If DC could buy some Marvel characters...

Let's say that DC finds itself in a position to purchase some "lesser" characters from the competition. If so, I'd like DC to pick up the following:

IRON FIST--Honestly, DC's heroes from the martial arts tradition (Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger) have never made much of an impression on me. But I have enjoyed Iron Fist, starting with some of the early stories drawn by John Byrne. I think Iron Fist would be a bigger star at DC.

HERCULES--In the alternate universe of DC, Herc has some very serious history with Hypolyta, Wonder Woman's mother. I'd enjoy seeing Hercules shake up the DC balance of power. The power and personality that he brings (not to mention the promise of tension with Wonder Woman) would be worth my money.

PUNISHER--I really want him for the Batman universe, which can never have too many vengeful vigilantes.

What if Marvel could buy some DC characters? As far as I'm concerned, Marvel can have Red Tornado. I've just never understood Reddy's appeal.

No you don't. Ennis's MAX Punisher would reduce Bruce to a crying baby. A little knock out gas in the vents at Arkaham and an M4 carbine and a couple clips later and there is no more super-crime in Gotham City ever again. For The Joker, he gives him the full clip. Just to be absolutley sure.

"But I'm a dark vigilante!"
"No, I'm a dark vigilante. You're just damage control."

They did have crossover in the 80's. But that was written by Chuck Dixon, who was clearly favoring Batman.

The Avengers and The Fantastic Four would be just another Super-Hero team. Nothing special about them. Although I always thought Thor and Power Girl would make a cute couple. The X-Men and Spider-Man would find the hero worship on the part of the DCU humans to be unsettling. Wolverine would find it unsettling that he's not "the best there is at what he does" when B-Leaugers like Nightwing and Arsenal could kick his ass.

I think Iron Man, Nick Fury, and SHEILD would be the best addition to The DCU. The last, best defense against The Meta-Human Menace.

I'm not sure that killing Joker will actually accomplish anything. I mean, he's sold his soul to a demon on a matter of pure whimsy, ensuring his damnation even if his numerous murders do not. Knowing him, he'd be running hell within a week, and leading a demon army upon Gotham. Invincible hell-lord Joker would then have fun tormenting Batman for a while, until he gets bored and arranges for reality to be reset.

Wolverine would slice both of those guys without a second thought.

If your not happy with the Bronze Tiger you need to go and find the old Suicide Squad run. He was great in that.

DC should really get Doctor Strange and toss him in the Vertigo Universe. This is a character that Marvel just has no clue what to do with.

DC should get Wolverine so he can stop f*cking up and appearing in everything Marvel.

I've always thought that it would be insane fun if Spider-Man and Batman switched places for a year. Not very likely to happen, I know...

Marvel should buy Mogo. That way, not only would they corner the living planet market, Ego would finally have someone his own size to pick on! :D

Meanwhile, DC should buy Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk and team them up with Wonder Woman. Then, after a night of super crime fighting and heavy drinking, things can take their - heh heh - natural course...

(Yeah, I know, but if we're going to post threads like this...)

Wolverine would tear them apart before they knew what happened.

Yeah, I'd forgotten how unapologetically daffy The DCU is.

Wolverine gets his ass handed to him every time he tries to take on Cyclops, Daredevil, Captain America, and The Punisher. Nightwing can take on Deathstroke, a guy who is Batman's equal in every way, and win. A Short Bus like Wolverine doesn't even stand a chance against Wildcat. While Wolverine is a skilled warrior with 2 huge advantages(Healing, Claws) his huge disadvantage usually becomes apparent when ever he goes up against people who've actually graduated High School. Everyone else I've mentioned is smart. Wolverine is not. So long as you've got basic martial arts skills combined with just a few brain cells, Wolverine will be no problem for you.

It would be interesting to see DC's take on lesser known Marvel heroes like Captain Marvel and the Silver Surfer (but then DC already has its own Captain Marvel).

As Superman told the Ultramarines, no-nonsense solutions just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel

Wolverine is both a victim of the Worf Effect and an all-around favorite guest-jobber.

It isn't that he's easy to beat, but that he's a measuring stick used to demonstrate how powerful everyone else is. And that makes him look a heck of a lot weaker than he really is.

No he doesn't. He's held his own against Captain America and Spider-Man. And I never saw Cyclops beat him. Nightwing has nothing that could even hurt Wolverine. He'd probably bust his hand on Wolverine's indestructable jaw.

What they should do is just merge universes.

No. DC is owned by Time Warner. Marvel is an independent publicly traded corporation.

And they did merge universes. It was interesting.
I don't want the characters combined like they did in amalgam. I want the established characters intact as they are now, only operating in the same or a connected realites

No he doesn't. He's held his own against Captain America and Spider-Man.

Everyone beats Spider-Man at least once. He's the Detroit Lions of comic book characters.

And I never saw Cyclops beat him.

Classic Proteus arc. Scott judo threw him around like a rag doll until Logan cried uncle.

Nightwing has nothing that could even hurt Wolverine.

Knock out pellets. Basic human intelligence.

What they should do is just merge universes.

Yeah. You know that they're two different comic companies right?
