Star Trek Rotten Tomatoes Rating

Merely going by his rating system, First Contact was actually his favorite.

I keep forgetting, between Ebert and the late Gene Siskel, wasn't it Siskel who liked all things Star Trek more to begin with?

Ebert's review is fair and balanced. And it's not a pan. Origins movies are hard, especially when you have to introduce seven characters (and a starship :)). He'd just like to see all that energy go into something a little more heavyweight. To paraphrase what he said at the end, now that we've established the characters, let's see their characters tested.

WTF Ebert!! He gave 17 again a more favorable review than Star Trek.

By my estimation, that should lower our RT rating to 95% fresh by the time his review is up. A big blow for the top critic section with at least an 83%. Nevertheless, a 95% rating is still very impressive. Lets just pray it doesnt get any lower.

Relax...
Are we seriously going to start freaking out because Trek might drop to 90 % Or 80 % for that matter

I love how we are freaking out about a 58-3 (or 4 I guess when Ebert gets up there) ratio. I mean jesus guys, we are freaking out a 97% percent tomatoes rating....

59-3 including Egbert...

What is annoying me is the lack of moderating at RT with so called community scores being 0 & 10% from people who refust to sccept change in TREK or hate all things TREK and wanna jerk themselves off by labelling it nerdy.

As for these 3 negative reviews I read them and I wonder where is the actual review they talk less about the movie and more for the hatred of SCI FI or how they don't understand it because there dumb asses. Hell Egbert says its a fun movie and then goes on how the movie is poor on the SCIENCE...

HELLO thats why it called Science - FICTION

J.J and his crew have worked hard on this movie and some people are just down right insulting with there take on it. If you think its a bad movie then fine prove it properly.

Another positive. Making it 60-4. After Ebert posted the 4th negative. (RT takes awhile to update its count).

I'm not sure Ebert's review could be considered completely negative, didn't sound bad at all. But in terms of the details, he didn't like the recent Trek's, but the new one changes almost everything, and he doesn't like that one either. Oh well, maybe he's senile.

In terms of more of the major critics, Rolling Stone has this positive review:

he result is more exciting than the last four ST pictures put together, more fun than a barrel of Tribbles, and the most satisfying action-adventure since last year's Iron Man.

61-4 Positive

RAMA

Even the "rotten" reviews don't really trash the movie. I am disappointed in Ebert, though.

On the upside, it's up to 8.1/10 :)
