Wrongs Darker than Death or Night (I agree, oh plz!)

Ties of Blood and Water (another oh plz!)

Tears of the Prophets (why would the Prophets give a flying *beep* that Jadzia died; personally I was celebrating like it was the end of Oceans 11)

Sacrifice of the Angels (Ziyal is a minor character and her death is not really that big of a deal, plus there is only one of her unless they were counting the three different actresses that played her in the title, which I doubt they were :cardie:)

Resurrection (who cares about a mannequin being resurrected...this title is way too epic for the unwatchable crap of the episode that it contained)

Ferengi Love Songs (just hearing this title makes me throw up in my mouth a little)

*****Wrongs Darker than Death or Night***** oh plz

*****Armageddon Rising*****

Do you mean "Armageddon Game" or "Inferno Rising"? If it's the latter, it did come off "In Purgatory's Shadow". :)

If you really allow yourself to feel the impact of that episode--it is absolutely appropriate. Something that poignant deserves a powerful title.

That episode just can't float my boat. The only watchable parts of it for me are the awesome Dukat/Weyoun scenes in the B-plot.

Amen to that. I wish they could have stuck those scenes in a better episode.

TOTAL disagreement. If you really allow yourself to feel the impact of that episode--it is absolutely appropriate. Something that poignant deserves a powerful title.

Agreed - the episode is about Kira and this father figure, Tekeny Ghemor, and is about how she comes to care for him like her father, and she has to watch him die, be there as he dies, like she wasn't for her own. The title is from the same vein as the phrase 'blood is thicker than water,' and how, sometimes the water becomes the thicker - Kira made herself be there for Ghemor when she couldn't stay for her father.

As for the topic, I would probably agree about Armageddon Game being too overdramatic. I'd lean towards saying the same of Apocalypse Rising - unless you're actually delivering dangers of galaxy-ending potential in the episode, best to stay away from apocalyptic names.

Fourthed or where ever we are now. The point I think it that there are things- loyalty, friendship that are greater than blood ties- can be stronger, even if you don't realize it right away. And that episode showed it. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves.

"In Purgatory's Shadow" and "By Inferno's Light" come off as title ham to me.

I found those titles appropriate if you look at what may have happened on a quadrant scale, and how the war has started to really happen- then it's true. If it's just the danger for Garak, Bashir and Worf... then no.

And of course you have certain visual motifs that showed up in the episode that make the title very fitting, too.

It really astounds me when I see the hate directed at this episode. At least in the case of "Wrongs Darker than Death and Night" I can see the reasons for the objections even though I still enjoyed the episode.

But honestly, this is one of my favorites...incredibly powerful. Maybe it means I'm nothing but a sentimental sap--but by the end, I was BAWLING like a baby.

Resurrection (who cares about a mannequin being resurrected...this title is way too epic for the unwatchable crap of the episode that it contained)

Actually, if you must know, *I* care.

I liked Bareil quite a bit....and I liked bad-boy Bareil too. And just so I'm CRYSTAL clear on the subject, he was WAY better with Kira than was creepy-fying old foggy Odo, who was obviously, even under all the makeup, played by an actor twice her age. :p Good grief - she may as well have been sleeping with her father, it was so creepy.

In fact, IMO, the absolute worst thing they did in Kira's entire storyline was kill off Bareil and stick her on a path toward Odo. Made me wanna hurl then, and it STILL makes me wanna hurl.

So I guess you have an answer to your inquiry as to 'who cares?'.

I consider Resurrection a misleading title - Bariel isn't resurrected, his counterpart from the mirror universe crosses over.

Of course, I'm an unabashed Kira/Odo fan, so I really don't care either way, cuz my couple's only separated by distance. :p

Umm... I think you've gotten 'Apocalypse Rising" and "By Inferno's Light" a bit muddled, yourself. :p;)

Anyway:

Q-Less (Q titles are always pretty Fu-Q-in' silly. At least it wasn't as lame as "Hide & Q". For the first Q-title, that's pretty damned weak.)

Almost every Ferengi pun episode title.

The Ship (Really? The 100th episode, and the best title you could come up with is... 'The Ship'? Even Voyager's writers came up with a better 100th episode title. It's like naming the last episode, "Stuff Stops".)

The Emperor's New Cloak (Must avoid mental imagery of Regent Worf wearing "the Emperor's new cloak". Oh, no, oh, NO... GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG...)

Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges (The writer even admitted that he was just trying to one up another pompous episode title. The title would have been fine in English.)

Some good picks, so let me add my own lamest entries: If Wishes Were Horses, partly because that ep is lame as well, and I just don't like the sound of it. Lame/uncreative titles include: Melora, The Jem'Hadar, and Cardassians. Is that the best they could do for those eps? Nor The Battle To The Strong gets my vote for pompouse, pretentious show title. -- RR
