Considering it's the best Trek movie out of the 10, I would say it probably couldn't have been much better.
More than successful. Adjusted for inflation it's still one of the top two or three in the series I think.
Eh, I agree. FC while certainly the best of the TNG bunch was still pretty lousy.

Its the best TNG movie, but its not where close to the best Trek movie. TWOK and TUC are well ahead of it, despite all of TUCs faults.
I'd even say TSFS and TVH is on par with it.

It was loved by Critics for good reason. Its a great Trek movie!
Didn't it only do 90 million? I could swear it only did 90 million. Granted, Nemesis only did 48 million.

Nah; TUC is lame. It's a good example of why Trek needs a reboot.
TWOK is better than "First Contact." Maybe TVH and TMP, with regard to certain things. But the level of craft on the other TOS-based movies just isn't on a par with FC.
Yeah, but even now 90 million isn't "Jersey Girl" or "Gigli" money. It's not a hit to be sure in the strictest definition of the word...but most movies would kill to make about 100 million domestic before folding.

Inflation make's these numbers look sweet so I feel that bodes well for JJ's Trek

Dude, if those 2 things were taken out of the movie, it would improve it's score..
