A couple of quick (non-spoiler) questions about the film

For those whom have already seen an advance screening of the movie, I had a couple of quick (non-spoiler) questions. I might think of one or two more as people reply but for starters:

1.) Is the music used in the original teaser trailer from the movie or from another source? The music used on the trailer is freakin' sweet and can't wait for the soundtrack if it is the same used in the movie.

2.) Is the film appropriate for children 11 & 13? Aside from what I would assume there to be some intense action scenes, I noticed a potentially racy scene in the teaser trailer (Kirk & Uhura?). Is there anything particular in it that should dissuade my wife and I from taking the whole family to see the movie? I would say that the most intense movie they've seen so far is Twilight.

no big spoilers in here:

1) yep. it's in the movie.

2) 11 & 13 is okay, I think. my niece is 8 and badly wants to go but my brother won't let her. the racy scene is short and not too bad. I don't think you'll have a problem. the movie IS intense though. emotionally intense as well as physically.

You know the music that plays when Spock says the 'Space the final frontier' line in the original teaser trailer; ie. the Star Trek theme...

Does that play during the movie a couple of times?

I remember it being in the end credits. in fact, the end credits theme is floating around here in a thread somewhere.

Wow so the Star Trek chime/jingle/tune doesn't appear anywhere else in the film?!

Shame.

Well, on the album there is at least one brief use of the opening phrase of Courage's theme.

Abrams said in an interview - it may have been just yesterday - that he didn't feel that using the original themes was "earned" until the point at which the characters have finally united as the original crew from the TV series. I don't know that I agree, but I can see the logic.

Just to clarify... Courage's theme is the TOS opening credits music right?

I'm talking about the Star Trek theme present in most movies, all series etc... The one that plays at 52 seconds here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAEme33ZQHI

Is that part really not in the movie at all? Apart from the end of the end credits??
