I admit that it's debatable whether Chapel, Rand, Arex, M'Ress, and maybe Pulaski should be considered main cast members. But I assume that they won't win anyway.

I voted for Spock. He is probably the most iconic Star Trek character there is, and greatly created Vulcans as we know them.

Michelle Forbes was credited as a guest star during her appearances. Denise Crosby and Nicole de Boer were in the opening credits of their respective shows.

Kate Pulaski is in fact the only TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT character who didn't appear in any opening credits, but is included in this poll. But as far as I know, Diana Muldaur would have been in the opening credits for TNG's Season 2 if she hadn't insisted on being credited as a "special guest star" for some reason.

It gets a bit trickier with TOS since only Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley were in the opening credits back then. Here I had to use my own discretion. I stopped before including Lt. Kyle.


So, the formula I used was:

Characters whose actors appeared in the opening credits of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT + Kate Pulaski + "recurring characters" played by Doohan, Takei, Nichols, Koenig, Barrett, Whitney during TOS and TAS.

If you don't think that Pulaski, Chapel, Rand, Arex, or M'Ress shouldn't be considered main characters, then don't vote for them.

I can't really speak for Praetor, but I'm just joking around. And I suppose he is, too.

Of course this is purely subjecitve. Logic has nothing to do with it.
