New Trailer OFFICIALLY Online - HD

I just saw it twice. Gave me goosebumps both times. Now that is a Star Trek trailer. Whether or not this film pleases star trek fans or just movie fans or both, I can't wait.

This is such a stunning trailer, the best we've ever had for Star Trek. All that HD... it just looks amazing.

They seem to have cut Uhura's line from this version. The one I saw last night featured a scene with her saying to Kirk "I hope you know what you're doing." to which Kirk replies "So do I."

Wonder why they did that...?

I DL'd it before They changed it, so I still have her saying that line...

It obvious she's pissed-off at him for taking over the Center-Seat at that point...

Probably a leftover feeling from the bar when he groped her...

I'm sure once he saves-the-day, her attitude will change.

About the final scene of the Kelvin being destroyed in the trailer...,

Since it appears that this scene takes place early in the movie, I think They purposely made it look like the Kelvin is the Enterprise as a bit of a tease of what's to come at the climax of the movie.

There seems to be a lot of movement and sound and fury.

Didn't see much cerebral content or heroism.

Maybe that will be in ST12

:vulcan:

You must have watched the wrong trailer.

Don't think so. Maybe this is the future. But I would like the next one to be a bit more character and plot driven, with some heroism and not just aggro shouting and explosions. And, great effects. Love those.

I'm not saying you're wrong here...but that's a pretty big assumption about the movie from a two minute trailer...

Perhaps They used mostly action scene's (like most trailers do) to get people who aren't Trek fans but like action movies to come see it??

Unlike a Chick-Flick Trailer which would be mostly TALKING and Character Scenes......
(ya think?):)

Perhaps you're right. That young James Kirk seems to be very resentful. But, it does say on TrekToday that he is more like a fifteen year old in a 25 year old's body. It has to be relevant to the problems of today, I suppose.

Does anyone know where the music is from? Is that actually from Trek XI or from something else? It fit the trailer perfect!

The music sounds lifted from "Batman Begins." Anyone else get that? It's not unusual for trailers to borrow music from other movies.

Yes, I mentioned it yesterday in response to others trying to pin down where they heard it before. (in the now closed trailer thread)

So, got it uploaded for those who want a different format. Here at 720P, enter the letters to download. Sorry it took so long, fell asleep as it was uploading, actually.

If I get the "free" version will ads be attached to the file as well?

As for the other graph ... the KELVIN looks PHYSICAL and present, I can't pay a higher complement, whether it was done with miniatures or CG. I can say it isn't lit quite the way I would, but it looks convincing to me. The other shot I mention of the E does not.

I agree it looks pretty dang god, but it's still (to me) noticeably CGI. The normal mapping on the hull plates stands out, for one.

You mean those bump-mapped hull-plates? Yeah. ;)

Holy shit. Just watched it in 1080p.

I almost started to cry. Stunning visuals, an epic, sweeping soundtrack.

I just hope the film's as good as the trailers. Just two more months, and likely around 6 months more until blu-ray release. :techman:

I'm pretty familiar with the Batman soundtracks and, while this definitely has a Zimmer vibe, it's not from Batman Begins or The Dark Knight.

The best thing about this trailer is that it leaves me wanting more. Fortunately I'll only have to wait a few more weeks to get more.

UNfortunately I'll have to wait years for a sequel.

I really, really wish this was a TV pilot.

Possibly because the delivery was awful. Uhura's that is, Kirk's reply was fine. I'm hoping that Uhura's line was cut from elsewhere in the film, as it certainly didn't seem to fit there.

Nice catch.

I thought its removal was a shame. While Uhura's line wasn't delivered the best, the followup is what finally convinced me that Chris Pine could really play Kirk.
I think Saldana's delivery was fine... the problem is her voice just doesn't sound like the Uhura we're used to.

Yeah I don't understand this assertion. I mean are you an actor/acting critic? How would you have had her deliver the line? Sounded just as good as any other delivery I've seen on a Trek production.

Same goes for Nero if anything from the parts we've seen he's quiet the understated Trek villain.

I don't know... Perhaps the context of it is off or something. I just watched it again on Youtube, and it just doesn't fit. Could be her voice. I'll reserve judgment until I've seen this delivery in the film itself.

Have you got a youtube link for the trailer with Saldana's line in?

The stuff They've shown of Nero so far makes him seem kinda wimpy/whiny to me...

But I know it's just cause it's very much out-out-context in the trailer.

Based on the prequel comic, I see a more developed character there.

Well that was honest-to-God epic.

And I have to say, the Big E looks better and better, the more we see of her. The tracking shots of her navigating through the debris field were beautiful.

I truly think I have been waiting for this movie my whole life, I always wanted Paramount to give Trek huge budget with a good director, Star Trek can be cool again. I always imagined something epic and accessible to all, something I can show off.

Finally the day has come.

Thank you JJ

Exactly how I feel bro. Wow... finally.
