New Trailer OFFICIALLY Online - HD

I thought the music was excellent, but Zimmer will definitely not be doing the score, that honor will fall to Michael Giacchino.

Fangasm.

The Enterprise and all the space scenes look amazing. As does San Francisco and the Academy auditorium. As does everything really. This trailer gives me goosebumps. If the movie is anywhere near as good, its going to be one of the best, if not THE best Star Trek movie ever made.

Well done, J.J. & crew. Well done.

I truly think I have been waiting for this movie my whole life, I always wanted Paramount to give Trek huge budget with a good director, Star Trek can be cool again. I always imagined something epic and accessible to all, something I can show off.

Finally the day has come.

Thank you JJ

They seem to have cut Uhura's line from this version. The one I saw last night featured a scene with her saying to Kirk "I hope you know whjat you're doing." to which Kirk replies "So do I."

Wonder why they did that...?

Possibly because the delivery was awful. Uhura's that is, Kirk's reply was fine. I'm hoping that Uhura's line was cut from elsewhere in the film, as it certainly didn't seem to fit there.

Nice catch.

I noticed this on my second viewing of the trailer but it looks like Spock is an Instructor at the Academy when Kirk goes there.

I don’t know why I don’t get the same “thrill” from this as when I saw the trailer for Trek VI. I can still watch both of those trailers and it always strikes a nerve with me in a gut, emotional level… Everything I've seen from this film has left me with just "well, that looks cool"...

I’m eager to see this film, have no problems at all with “re-invention” or lack of canon, but this just looks like any other “big” action movie with great visuals and effects… it doesn’t feel like Star Trek to me and I can’t put my finger on why…

The shot of Kirk taking the command chair reminds me more of one of Max Fischer’s plays from Rushmore than of a pivotal moment in Trek history…

Again, I don’t know why I feel this way…

They've added in a couple of shots of Quinto as Spock, instead.

This trailer is excellent. It flipped my switch from "cautiously optimistic" to "excited." I wasn't expecting that.

trailer FUCKING KICKS ASS!!!1 i so cant wait till the 8th if may now. some of the scenes in the trailer i were like no way that cant be possible for a movie. i had shivers up my spine. seriously cant wait

As for the other graph ... the KELVIN looks PHYSICAL and present, I can't pay a higher complement, whether it was done with miniatures or CG. I can say it isn't lit quite the way I would, but it looks convincing to me. The other shot I mention of the E does not.

I agree it looks pretty dang god, but it's still (to me) noticeably CGI. The normal mapping on the hull plates stands out, for one.

Yeah.... he and several others in the auditorium scene are in the same gray uniforms with gold pins that Pike was wearing in the bar. Interesting...

I thought its removal was a shame. While Uhura's line wasn't delivered the best, the followup is what finally convinced me that Chris Pine could really play Kirk.

The music sounds lifted from "Batman Begins." Anyone else get that? It's not unusual for trailers to borrow music from other movies.

I think Saldana's delivery was fine... the problem is her voice just doesn't sound like the Uhura we're used to.

I don't know... Perhaps the context of it is off or something. I just watched it again on Youtube, and it just doesn't fit. Could be her voice. I'll reserve judgment until I've seen this delivery in the film itself.
