Tom Welling and glasses myth

^I'm not exactly the first person to praise Smallville. I watch it out of habit more than anything else despite my opinion that it's overtaken Heroes as the better superhero show on TV.

I agree, but that's not exactly saying a whole lot... :p

No, true, but at the very least Smallville occasionally allows its superpowered characters to use those powers to solve whatever problem of the week they've got. Heroes, instead, finds reasons why they wouldn't.

Yes, Smallville often uses Kryptonite to make villains who would otherwise not be a threat to Clark Kent more of a problem but it's a well-known weakness that was created to make Superman not unbeatable.

Hiro and Peter had similar weaknesses (Hiro cannot positively change anything through time travel and Peter might go nuclear if he uses too many different powers) but the writers just forgot about them and just had Arthur Petrelli take those powers away.

Smallville embraces the fact that it's a show about superheroes. Heroes runs away from it. They're embarrassed that they're not just a run of the mill kitchen sink drama.

Hey Bob The Skutter, is that Rimmer from the new Red Dwarf movie? I thought holograms weren't supposed to age.:p
Yes, it's Rimmer, not from the movie though, from the 3 special episodes they're doing for Easter.
Where'd you get the idea holograms don't age? Just look at Out of Time, he's aged, and got fat in that one.
