Yes, a feminized Wes, that's it exactly. They took that hunk of butch man meat and made it more girly and gentile until it looked like Seven...

Seven was a male version of Wesley.

The comparison is only warranted because they both wore catsuits.

But to be honest, I mostly think of Wes as season one TNGs 15 year old kid, so of course Seven is going to seem a touch more hard ass than he was.

A vote such as this is similar to a job interview in which the unwritten rule is that, between two equally qualified women, the one with the biggest tits always wins!

I tend to think of Wes in that annoying S1 way too. To be fair the character improved in the later seasons.

he was always heading towards that since episode 5 of like the first season. the problem with Startrek, well, Voyager and Enterprise mostly, is that it gets a good idea, knows that they need a couple years to germinate until they can produce a decent money shot but they just can't be bothered with the seeding and leg work inbetween showing the graduations of the processes.

Wes should have been getting "powers" and ability increases every couple years or so till he finally became a god in the end and satisfied the Q Continuum's fears about the looming evolution of man.

Which makes him Kes too.

I voted for Seven.

Of all the characters in all of the Trek series Kes is the character I disliked the most (though Keiko was close on her heels). Kes was a sickly sweet, goody-two-shoes who bored me completely. I found her voice irritating. I was overjoyed to see the last of her.

I liked Seven though she was not my favourite character and I think she was overused.

Kes is the character I liked the most. If there has been any character in Star Trek who really represented the spirit of Star Trek, then it was Kes.

As for me, I'm overjoyed that I never have to watch seasons 4-7 of Voyager again because they were so incredible bad compared to seasons 1-3.

I am not sure why you watch them in the first place if you thought they were so bad. If I began to dislike a show I might given it a season, maybe even two, hoping it would improve but not four years.

I didn't like season 1-3 as much as 4-6 but I didn't think they were bad even with Kes in them though today I usually skip episodes "Kes episodes" such as Elogium (which was really bad IMO).

I quit Voyager for two years when Kes was kicked out.

After two years I decided to give it a second chance, most because of my affection for the characters, so I borrowed tapes to catch up with what I'd missed.

But I didn't really like those episodes. Something important was missing.

And my final reward for giving Voyager a second chance was "Fury". The ultimate insult. So I did quit there and then, only watching "Endshame" after that (another mistake but the last one).

Since then, I've promised that i will never watch any episode of seasons 4-7 again. Fortunately I have seasons 1-3 on DVD and yes, I can watch those episodes over and over again! :techman:

If it was deliberate insult (which I doubt) maybe they wanted to pander to some of the "Good Kes" dislikers like me who ended up liking her for a while. "Bad Kes" was a breath of fresh air.
