Any news from the NY Comic Con?

When and where is the next Shore Leave Scheduled to be?

I've never been much of a convention person, but I don't have anything against them, and I think this one might be entertaining since I enjoy reading many of the Trek Series.

You are very welcome. I would love to go down one of these years. I owe all the authors at least a beer;for the enjoyment I have gotten from them.

^ It was. Apparently nothing new was announced... not too surprising, since Margaret spilled a lot in her TrekMovie.com interview just a few weeks ago.
Would someone be able to provide the exact link to this? I'm not sure if I heard this news and couldn't find the story on the site. Or was it just news about the movie's novelization?

Thanks! There is a fair bit of new news in there. I'm not yet done ASD yet but I saw the note on the inside back cover about "The Typhon Pact" in 2010. I assumed that this was some sort of peace accord struck between the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, and other races hit hard by the Borg; possibly against a new threat. It sounds, however, like the Typhon Pact is actually the new threat. It will be interesting to see where this leads!

I would like to do Shore Leave just once and meet the authors. Now that my sister lives in Harrisburg, I guess it's not to far outside the realm of possibility. I've already been past the hotel on one trip down there.

I just don't get the impression that I'd find enough to keep me occupied the whole weekend.

It all depends upon what you want out of a con. Friday there are panels, the Meet the Pros party and authors drinking in the bar. Saturday there are panels, workshops, the Masquerade, a dance and authors drinking in the bar. Sunday there are panels, workshops, Mystery Trekkie Theater, and authors drinking in the bar.

If that's not enough, a new event is being planned for Friday night that will be a MUST for people on the board. Stay tuned for an announcement.

I detect a theme for the authors

Quick interjection: I haven't been to Shore Leave for years and years, because of living on the wrong coast, but it used to be an annual occurrence for me, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was always a wonderfully relaxed convention, and the writers in particular were always very approachable and friendly, with only one or two exceptions (I won't say who, but it's not anybody who posts on here). Mystery Trekkie Theater in particular is always worth the whole weekend!
