Which character would you like to have a drink with?

No polls, since I think the polls are kind of pointless. Which character would you like to have a drink with? It can be any character from the trek universe.

If it were women I'd say 7 of 9 in the hopes of getting her back to my quarters.
If it were a guy I'd say Trip Tucker, cause he seems cool as shit.

I wouldn't mind kickin back a few with Troi for the same reason you mentioned 7.

Other than that, I wouldn't mind a drink with Garak or Riker. Data would be cool too.

Oh, Q, definitely, but as for the humanoids, it would be Chakotay or Picard. Because they are (in different ways) the dreamiest, of course.

Kira comes to mind...she'd be quite interesting. I think the two of us would have a lot in common, despite having very different upbringings.

And if you'll forgive me choosing a guest character...Tekeny Ghemor, while he was still relatively healthy. Something tells me that would be a wonderful chat. And what a way to learn about Cardassians--and actually get straight answers! (Which I'm sure Dukat and Garak would never give. ;) )

My votes for Damar, as he likes to drink!:rommie: Dukat and Garak would be interesting conversationalists, as would Ghemor, Marcet and Daro.(Heck any Cardassian would make a good drinking partner.)

Both Jadiza and Ezi Dax would, for obvious reasons make great drinking partners;).

OOOOH yes, Macet and Daro would be wonderful as well! Macet seemed like a very levelheaded, stand-up kind of guy, and I think we'd probably be able to relate--especially since I have some of my own bones to pick with the way Picard handled events during "The Wounded". ;)

Daro doesn't seem like quite the "talker" many Cardassians are on the surface, but very, very approachable much as Ghemor was--I suspect that if I could get him going, he'd have some VERY interesting things to say. (I am STILL pissed at that bartender for cutting him off in "The Wounded"--I think if he'd been able to hold the floor instead of O'Brien's taking it from him, he would've had one hell of a story to tell.)

Yeah but then the morally superior human wouldn't get the opportunity to lecture the ignorant Cadie:rolleyes:.

I'm a bit of a left winger myself but I have serious problems with the self righteousness of the Feds, that is why none of 'em are on my drink with list except for our favorite trill and that 24th century son of Eire, Mr Miles Edward O' Brian( Along with Glinn Daro they should finish their conversation properly godsdammit)!

I think Garak would be a good laugh, the stories he tells are absolutely hilarious.

Nahh, we'd just get to commiserate about the problem together.

Yes, that conversation was about to be life-changing...the way it was played gave me a very strong feeling that had O'Brien not lost his temper, it could've been major for both of them.

I am center-to-right, and part of why I've always liked the Cardassians is that I feel like if they got their act together (i.e. ditched the fascism and racism, but kept the good parts of their traditions), they could really be something. The Federation self-righteousness and human self-righteousness in particular is something that I don't care for: funny how tolerant humans are of other races' beliefs most of the time--and yet apparently not tolerant of diversity of belief amongst their fellow humans. My suspicion is that I would be a fish out of water in the Federation thanks to that fake tolerance not extending to me, and would have much better luck living on Bajor or a (reformed) Cardassian Union.

^ I am in agreement with most of the above, Nerys Ghemor with particular regards to self rightness. As someone who considers himself to be Political and has certain political ideas( Which I will not elaborate here as this is not TNZ) I have always found self rightness to be a real drain on the body politic. It obviously comes in many forms and crosses all social boundaries and classes, and in Star Trek isn't limited solely to the almighty UFP. Our own dear Gul Dukat was very certain of the rightness of his cause in terms of the Occupation, selling Cardassia to the Dominion and chasing Kira Nerys! that's why a drink with Dukat might be hard to deal with especially if he has had a few!

Dukat with a few in him is a pretty scary thought--I think my ears would bleed!

Agreed, at least Damar would be a fun drunk! As would Quark and the other Ferengi, those lads could make a night of it and they would get the rounds in!

Now to pick someone not from DS9, Picard and McCoy. Class and Humour what more could you want!

As long as Damar was kept from picking a fight! I seem to recall him as a pretty aggressive drunk sometimes. :p

Definitely McCoy--that would be interesting. Not Picard, though...I'm not sure whether I'd be at more risk to go to sleep, or get pissed off!

For male characters I would love to sit at a table with Picard and Trip.
Trip being just the coolest dude to kick back with, and I'd love a session
with Picard's intelligence and wisdom. Once they started drinking I think
it would be an awesome laugh to sit back and enjoy.

For female characters, Hoshi. She's smart, conversational and probably the
most adorable character ever to grace Trek. :)

Replace Picard with Kirk and you're laughing. And with Damar as long as there are no Jem'har around he'll be fine!

Sisko. I'd get him drunk and beat him in a wrestling match... then write several papers with introductions about how I'm intelectually and physically superior to him.
