UK BBSers: From Russia with SNOW....

No more snow here alas. A bit of snow still on the ground though, yet the sun is shining
It is pretty cold though, yet I'm still wearing just my T-shirt; because I'm hard! ;)
I very rarely wear long sleeves, T-shirts are what I wear 99% of the time, only time I have long sleeves is when I have a coat, jacket or a shirt on. But I have to admit to putting a sweatshirt on when it was -15 to -20 in when I went to Michigan.

Snows still plugging away at it here - no more fall for an hour or so, but the roads are treacherous as anything. The hills in Bristol (which, if you know Bristol, there are quite a few of!) are closed, things are ok here, but if this slush freezes overnight, the roads will be bloody deathtraps tomorrow morning.
I hope someone is sensible enough to come out on the radio/tv and say Do not drive or you will die. On my way home just now I saw one car sliding down the road, didn't think much of it till he'd passed me and I noticed his reversing lights were still on

Ya'll complaining about the snow still? We got another inch yesterday to go with the foot on the ground already, and it was 14 degrees F. TYPICAL WINTER WEATHER AROUND THESE PARTS. :D

It's raining here. That horrible damp half-hearted rain, not the proper stuff. If it's going to rain I want big sloshes and thunder and lightening, not just this excuse for weather! Snowless in Sussex:(

That's the point - it's not typical for us. Therefore we have underdeveloped coping mechanisms and tend to complain a lot.

:D

still got alot of yesterdays snow today, it will freeze over night, making roads very dangerous in the morning, but after that there is no snow on the forecast so it should start to melt

Yep. I'm not driving anywhere until a proper thaw kicks in.

Oxfordshire got quite a bit of snow overnight and temperature will remain subzero for the weekend.

I'm in an area of North Herts with muchos snow and I'm meant to be in work tomorrow at 9.30...

Meh.

The drive down to London was completely overrated. Not a single bit of ice on the main roads. Thank goodness for the English motorway system. :p (Although Newport Pagnell service station was a bit touch and go, with lots of slush there - imagine if one slipped and fell and had a fracture at that ironically named "Welcome Break" station...)

Well, I made it safely, if only because of my leaving during daylight hours. :)

If anyone from London, Oxfordshire and North Herts reads this, this is a quick "Hi there!" from your newest temporary neighbour, underneath the Heathrow flight path.

Come on, we complain about weather, regardless of what it is. We're British, it's what we do. Just be proud of what we are, man.

Yeah but the image over here is of the unflappable Brit that can't be bothered to be bothered.

"...and the revelation that Price Harry is gay-er than Dick's hatband will have repercussions for years to come. And in other news, a series of explosions ripped through the Underground killing dozens and disrupting travel. The Security Minister has raised the Security Alert level from 'meh' to 'mildly annoyed.' On to the sports scores, West Eastington beat North Southington today..."

But for once we can legitimately whinge! That's my point.

Oh, we complain, but we're not really bothered... we can't be arsed to be bothered by stuff. Complaining though, that's like out national sport.
