UK BBSers: From Russia with SNOW....

Snowing again at the moment, expected to be a fresh coat by morning.
Bristol City Council is 3 days from running out of grit. This is about to get interesting... ;)

^ the snow wont last that long

*starts to hear dramatic movie trailer lines, about a city when its run out of grit*

snowing here in the Cotswolds. well, my neck of 'em. i cleared the path yesterday. that was pointless. it's covered again and i think it's deeper.

no work for me again!

It was snowing when I got to Stratford station this morning but by the time I got to work it had stopped.

Snowing here currently. Don't think the bus is running again today. Not sure if the shop will be open today although schools in the area appear to be open.

Another day like yesterday here, about 5-6 inches, more on the high ground. apparently the emergency services had to rescue 200 people on the A38 in Devon last night who became trapped in their cars. Why people drive in this weather I'll never know.

It's official. Not going to work today, assistant manager rang the area manager and she said not to try if it's dangerous. :D

I heard about that last night. Good thing my travels won't be in that direction this afternoon. :bolian: Hope everyone from that part of the world is OK there. :)

There's been steady - but not heavy - snowfall here for two or three hours, now - there was none overnight, so there's no great depth to it.

Snow has more or less gone here. At its worst it barely covered the ground. Now everything's dripping icy meltwater. I have a feeling that's the end of snow for this winter. I'm very disappointed.

I wanted to hear stories on the news about bringing a fleet of snow ploughs over from Germany to clear the M1, because we scrapped all our snow ploughs in the 1990s. (France won't lend us theirs)

And then waiting a week for a ship to sail over from canada importing a million tonnes of grit because we're incapable of mining the stuff from under our own feet.

And because we English are all snowed in and can't get to work, we'll have no choice but to bring in a load of European workers to spread this grit around for us.

And when the grit arrives it turns out that we've ordered the wrong kind of grit, because it's made of limestone chippings so is unsuitable for highways.

Great Britain is made of such thrilling news stories. :bolian:

So much for "British Jobs for British People". :guffaw:

The snow continues to melt. Hopefully the way will be clear for my journey to West London later today. :bolian:

No more snow here alas. A bit of snow still on the ground though, yet the sun is shining
It is pretty cold though, yet I'm still wearing just my T-shirt; because I'm hard! ;)
