All 17 episodes of The Prisoner on AMCTV.com

ITV4 have been repeating it for a while, I think they've been through it twice now, and about 3 episodes in to their 3rd run.

I remember watching episodes of this here and there on PBS...I seem to remember
SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!

The final episode is awful. Thanks for coming out but it just didn't work. The ending was worse than the last Matrix movie.

The ending has it's problems IMO, but then Some Consider it the best episode. If anything, It's a daring piece of work.

Personally, I'm Really fond of Checkmate and Chimes of Big Ben.

Your use of capitalization eludes me.

That's likely not the only thing.....

You are correct on the capitalization though, and I will watch it in the future.

Now about that final episode, are you telling me you didn't appreciate the dramatic reveal of No. 1?

I saw the episodes of The Prisoner that I did about 15 years ago...and I remember the ending being one of those ones that seemed like " Hey...we don't really know how to end this so...here's some wacky imagery that makes it seem like the the person who imprisons the prisoner is the prisoner himself!!!" or whatever. They didn't bend my mind nearly as much as they wanted to.

If you were watching it in the 60's smoking dope it would have been the most awesome thing you'd ever seen.

In the 70's watching the laser show at the Planetarium featuring music by Floyd and Zep whilst on acid would have eclipsed it, but just barely.

But this is the 21st century and you are jaded by video games and crack.

Hmmm. but I saw it in the 80s...what was jading my vision then? maybe coke and too many pastel sports coats?

That idea could be kind of deep actually.

Watching the finale right now. Man it's been years since I've seen a episode of The Prisoner. Great series.

I got A&E's latest repackaging of the Region 1 DVDs a month or so ago, and just finished watching the show for the first time earlier today. I'm a big fan of the ending- its execution is obviously very over-the-top, which is a matter of taste, but the content is totally in line with the series' theme.

Oooh, cool! Thanks for the heads-up! A show I've always wanted to check out but never had the opportunity.

It's a pity that A&E didn't put any effort into a 40th anniversary DVD set like Network did in the UK.

I've watched the first episode and fund it really badly made (the jump cuts and audio edits, which I'm sure are part of the whole feel of the show, just didn't sit well with me).

That said, I have downloaded the McGoohan Seven to see the main storyline through.
