Not bad so far, but I guess I have questions regarding a couple of points they split from the book on:
-Shar's discussion with Richard left out a few things that will be important in later books/seasons
-Whole sequence with the Adie was odd. Why set up the spirits of the dead, and then not have them cross through the barrier using the stone? Doesn't make sense, as they don't return again. Along those lines, why no weakening of the barrier, creating an area they could cross through? Other than a 'kewl' sword fight, doesn't make sense for Rahl to just knock it down, and big enough to walk an army through. Nightstone gets used again later, but for now, they set the whole thing up for crossing the barrier, and then didn't follow through.
-Burning the book. This seems a bit of a problem, plot-wise, seeing as how the book is essentially how Richard wins at the end. But in the book, his Dad had crossed the barrier (or gotten it from someone who had, I forget), made Richard memorize it, and then burned it himself. It still gets destroyed, but not until after Richard has the whole thing in his photographic memory. That's not only important to THIS book, but about half of the series, as that book keeps coming up as important. For him to read the first sentence only, and then burn it, means we're going to be going a LOT more off-script as we move along.
-Along those lines, Zed doesn't make the first part of the journey with Richard and Kahlan, which gives them some time to themselves (and aimless wandering towards mud people) before Zed catches back up.
