Would you watch a ST show with an all-female cast?

Well would you? I'm sure it might be appealing in certain ways, but overall I'd have to say no.

"Say, is this the ship of the Valkyries? Or have you Human women finally done away with your men altogether?"

Seriously this is like asking if an all-male cast would be a good idea. What's the point?

He's doing this as a counter-point to Dayton's thread about an all-male Trek.

And my answer is no. Nor would I be in favor of a Trek show with an all-male cast, or a cast where everyone is of the same ethnic group, or religious belief, or sexual orientation. It would just be boring if they were all the same.

As long as they all wear miniskirts and Carla Gugino is the captain.

I'll be watching it...in my bunk.

if they're all on their period at the same time, it could very well result in the most dangerous and unpredictable ship in the galaxy.... :shifty:

ON their periods? Last time I checked PMS sets in the week BEFORE the period... unless I missed a memo that's how it works boys...As far as an all female cast? No...As was said before it would get old after the cast had to bend over for the 100th time to fix a blown plasma conduit....but times 1 through 99 would sure be great!:techman:

UFP news at 11:
"the crew of the USS Feminoid started interstellar war today because the envoy of the <insert new main villain race here> was summarily executed for leaving the toilet seat up. Starfleet court martial proceedings were dismissed later today due to the 'PMS' clause of the Uniform Code of Starfleet justice - which allows women to get away with anything as you might expect from socialist utopia like the UFP. The gals were returned to their ship and allowed to return to their primary mission - ridding the galaxy of all expressions of "maleness"

Motto of the U.S.S. Amazon: "You just don't get it, do you?"

It reminds me of an article I read once (or an extract from one) which was reporting on research done in Glasgow. To paraphrase, the researchers realised that women responded to men's faces differently at different times of the month. At most times, handsome men were favoured over more plain ones, but at a certain point in the month, the man with scissors sticking out of his head was the most popular.

I actually wrote a fanfic about this once, just to see if I could...

It sucked so bad I deleted it immediately after I finished it. It stretched the suspension of disbelief too far that Starfleet would authorize a female-only (just like a male-only) crew under any circumstances. It didn't matter if I had a good story or not, the initial premise was the biggest problem for me.

Unless it's something about an unlikely Human male Starfleet officer assigned to an alien starship with an alien all-female crew--nah, the whole idea just too fanboyish to be taken seriously.

But I bet it'd work on Showtime at night or "Skinamax"...

Ahotep I led the Egyptian army, driving out the Hyksos, 3600 years ago. I'd certainly call that military service, all evidence, including burial points to this. There is quite a long chain of precedence stretching from then to 1970, I assure you.

hell no.

I'm against having women in the military

But Dayton, "Starfleet is not a military organization" (as all the sycophants keep saying), so it should be no problem.

Personally, I'd have no problem with it if all the women were like Tasha Yar and Ro Laren. A ship full of Crushers and Trois I'd blow up myself.

Agreed. Though I would watch it. It's still Trek whether it's all female or not.

yeah the real problem is who would fix the engines if there were no men around?
