I disagree. I really liked that plot twist, and if you read the novels, you'd know that the father didn't have powers, so obviously Mrs. Petrelli did. I always wondered what they were, and it also explains why Peter had visions of the future in S1

- What about Elle? Her character hasn't been written as the type that is now just going to up and dissappear.

- What about our Irish lass Caitlen from S2 that was trapped in a shity Virus infected alternate future.

^also at one point when he's talking to Maya he looks at Mo the lizard in his cage. foreshadowing maybe?

You may have glossed over where I said the following.

I watched HEROES S1&2 on DVD in the span of about 3 weeks. I've now seen the premiere of S3 so that makes 36 episodes in about 21 days time.

Its a cheap ploy. If the show wants to continue to be seen as smartly written don't take your audience for granted that they will just accept things without explanation. LOST nearly fell into that trap.

Screw the novels. Not everyone has that much free time, hence why I didn't watch the show progress as it came out. Time is tight and I'm not Hiro. I made time for this, now I'm second guessing that as a possible waste of time. If they want me to know something put it on screen.

No. I got shit to do. If they put the answers, of important questions, somewhere else other than the show, that's bad writing.

Put the interesting but not needed to understand or believe the story in the online comics.

But tell the story well on TV. Period.

I'm am quite surprised at the number of high grades this premiere got. I thought it was pure and utter crap. I've ever thought the actors on this show were particularly good but man what a horrendus job they did last night. bad acting and ba writing made for a piss poor show. The number of idiotic things doen in the show were mind boggling. Just couldn't stand it. I'll give it a few more epioes but after that steaming pile I'm not hopeful for this show.

I want to comment for a moment on the discussion earlier on Maya and her attractiveness.

I think saying she "looks like a man" is extreme but at the same time I don't find her all that attractive. I guess she has a nice enough body but I find her "harsh faced" which could likely have more to do with lighting, makeup and the way the show is filmed than it does the actress herself.

I've finished the first hour, interesting so far, I like it better than S2 at this point. Seems to have a bit better direction.

Was there even anyone during season three that knew about what Nikki was up to? Because she was separated from everyone else for most of season two.

To the best of my knowledge, only Mohinder knew where she was.

Damn. I really missed started the Heroes topics each week.

I heard the first episode of season 3 is really action packed. Looking forward to it.

I thought they were two separate episodes rather than a two-hour season premiere. In any case, I thought it was awesome. After the writers' strike and some mediocre plotlines during Season, I'm glad the show is back with a bang. Looking forward to the new season!

Now that's just a silly response. If you were watching 24 and a bad guy with no motivations shows up out of nowhere seemingly part of the terrorist plot all along and connected to all the other characters you never saw him interact with, and the answer to "where the hell did he come from" is to go to a fake web site set up as a viral marketing campaign, is that really good TV storytelling? Requiring you to go beyond the TV show itself, which is, you know, what you were watching, is not good writing.

It's like all the people who write entire essays on this board to explain plot holes and sloppy writing for Smallville and Terminator... and Heroes.

It's called either bad writing or bad editing. Boy, it must've been tough for those St. Elsewhere, L.A. Law and Hill Street Blues writers, who had to contain stories within the shows themselves and give reasons for why things happen.

Word. You shouldn't have to read novels, websites, Nokia phone downloads, and all sorts of other stuff to understand what is going on in a show. But, for all we know, they plan to explain her later on.

I do really like her, she needs to stick around.

I just finsihed watching the episode and I really liked them! This season already feels much better than last season.

Just watching it now but this whole time travel stuff ruins the show because anytime anything goes wrong, just go back in time and fix it...BORING !!!

Depends if there's anything deeper worth discussing.

Which, this episode was mostly set-up and establishing the season than anything else so there's not a "lot" to discuss other than pure speculation on the aims of the season.

I certainly can't think of anything. I've questions, but any answers would either be guesses, interpetation of things TPTB have said, assumptions based on having read/seen related media or knowledge from reading spoilers on upcoming episodes.

I just thought it was a good couple of episodes and I liked these two episodes more than I lied S2's first two episodes.

I forgot to mention that in my list of "issues" but did think the same thing.

Remember in S1 when Parkman and "nuclear man"(I forget his name right now) break into his house and they discuss hacking his computer. Something is said to the effect, "Do you think he keeps the top secret stuff on his family home computer?" and the response is "I'm still going to look"

Well we all know Noah is more careful than that and how did those files survive the fire? Never mind the sheer contrived nature of them just being there easy to find.

The more I watch it, the more I think think the writers are trying to complicate things for themselves. Also I wish they would stop writing it so much like a comic book, that whole Hiro and the forumula thing was so awful Seriously everything was so forced

I loved S1&2 but apart from Matt Parkman being sent to well somewhere, this episode is struggling.
