I said excellent, but based on what a show like Heroes can do more like above average this week. Great start for the series. The second episode was much better than the first. Need to watch both again. Somethings in the show I already knew from being overloaded with spoilers.

Well, it's back! And it's....OK.

Some good stuff, some not so good. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

BTW - I'm really getting tired of Poor Claire And Her Angsty Whinging. There was enough of that last season, FFS. And while we're at it - when is someone going to tell Noah that Claire gets caught up in Loads Of Bad Shit And Stuff whether he tries to keep her safe or not? Change the record and give the girl room to groove, man!

I'm hoping Linderman is Nathan's subconscious as well. At this point, Nathan is the more interesting Petrelli brother. I guess I'd built it up in my mind what would happen when Nathan found out that Peter shot him. I expected some emotional payoff, and there was none. It's going to be awfully hard to retrieve that at a later date if present Peter isn't here for Nathan to rail at and Future Peter is running around messing up God knows what. The writers set up this conflict, but have separated the brothers. Not smart.

I would say that somehow Nathan can see dead people, LOL. Kinda like M.Night-Shamalayn-o-Vision or something. I think Future Peter did heal Nathan and somehow bringing him back went horribly horribly wrong and he used Mama Petrelli's powers to screw up his mind as well.

Oh and Love that they have Bruce Boxenleitner playing the scummy govenor, that is very delicious!!!

I give this episode an above average rating.

The only thing I didn't like was the powers serum. It's too similar to The 4400, and The 4400 did it better.

And the serum is just...easy. And that it works the first time out of the gate...

...and of COURSE it will have negative repercussions. Will scientists EVER learn?

I swear they need to have a class and on the first day teach: If you create a chemical to do something no one has ever done and you test it on yourself, expect bad things to happen TO YOU.

Well, the 3d season opener confirms what I've believed all along:

Mohinder Suresh is the dumbest smart guy on the planet. Or possibly the smartest dumb guy on the planet. Good narrator, bad scientist.

this episode(s) was EPIC. In the first 20 min my mind was blown! Claire can't feel pain! She's like... an invincible 701 soldier (that's a Black Mask reference btw)

FINALLY, I'm excited for Heroes again!
But what happened to Micah and Copy girl?

oh, and as for MOHINDER, I think his impulsive attitude comes from his father's death being linked to all this work, and they (the writers) are trying to justify his brashness due to his intrigue and immediacy of his work... But I agree; smartest dumb guy, or dumbest smart guy

I watched HEROES S1&2 on DVD in the span of about 3 weeks. I've now seen the premiere of S3 so that makes 36 episodes in about 21 days time.

I really got a sense of "been there done that" with this 2pt opener. I felt like I was watching a pirated remake of a recent movie done poorly.



-Apparently the future is always at stake.

• S1 - "Supers" are hunted after Peter nukes NY and society falls apart. Hiro wants his fathers respect. Noah only wants to protect his family.
• S2 - "Supers" are responsible because the virus got out ie Adam and society falls apart. Hiro wants to save his dad and be respected that way. Noah is still protecting his family
• S3 - Everybody is now a "super" and society falls apart due to the chaos. Hiro must safe guard the formula to honor his father. Noah is still doing things to just protect his family

- So the French Flash chic shows up how? She knows to be there at that exact moment the safe is open how?
- How did Future Peter "place" Present Day Peter inside the body of that Level 5 guy?
- Further more how is it that S1 Scarred Face Peter is even around? That timeline was changed. Any Peter that exists in the future from Nathan revealing himself and thus everybody getting all super should not look nor act exactly like S1 Future Peter.
- With 2 episodes you can't at least toss a nod to the events in New Orleans? Nikki in an exploding fiery building. Micah and Monica are alive but MIA. I refuse to "assume" about Nikki's fate. Rule #1- no body no death...and even then with this show.
- Mohinder is now officially the dumbest character on the show for a guy with a Doctorate. He's gone from being a good son, to James Bond, to Peter Parker and then apparently Jeff Goldblums The Fly.
- Linderman is now what a ghost stuck to Nathans side?
- Parkman is useless but reading the turtles mind was funny.
- Mrs. Petrelli being revealed as Sylers mom just took the cake for most contrieved plot element. Its like the writers room said "Hey, how can we possibly intertwine our main cast even more".
- Molly is simply gone. Not that I cared for her character but at least she got more than Nikki, Monica and Micah.
- So stalker boy West just gives up. No explanation on him, the Bennets are still in Cali when we start.
- What about Elle? Her character hasn't been written as the type that is now just going to up and dissappear.
- What about our Irish lass Caitlen from S2 that was trapped in a shity Virus infected alternate future.


This season is going to need several episodes such as "4 months ago" to explain away the holes. Even then the season/volume has set itself up to be rerun in plot elements from S1&2.
Its got till the winter hiatus to show me that its not just going to become a parody of its self.


And what did Verizon pay for that product placement?

Personally, I hope we never see Micah again...I would have loved it even more if we never saw Nikki again, too, but, well...

Voted excellent.

I take Heroes as it is - I don't expect it to utterly wow me. I expect to be able to predict practically everything that happens and have a massive thrill seeing it all unfold. These two episodes were just epic. Brilliant set-up for the rest and already superior to series 2 (which I liked anyway).

Surprised no one has mentioned the return of Mother Bennett yet! (can't remember her name at all). Now that DID surprise me. As did the slaughter of Bob. That'll teach him to have a useless power

Could they really have a nod to Nikki and the New Orleans superfriends? Was there even anyone during season three that knew about what Nikki was up to? Because she was separated from everyone else for most of season two.

I enjoyed it, but again I think this show is one you can only enjoy if you dont take it very seriously. Im not too crazy about the fact that once again Peter has to hang out with a bunch of bad guys & Nathan is having weird visions & being manipulated by someone else. Also that Nathah scene in the church...was...weird. I hope they dont let the "God saved me b/c we are special" stuff get out of hand. He did look cute when he was praying by the window though.

also how the heck did he come back to life? I hope that doesnt end up being another unexplained plothole.

btw I dont think Mohinder's having a bad reaction to the chemical, I think he's getting lizard powers(wall crawling/ skin shedding.)

Yet another unexplained. My theory is that it has something to do with Adams blood having been prior mixed with Nathans. Its the easiest explanation anyway. However, it causes one to wonder then how long the affects last. Can Nathan or anyone who mixes with a "healers" blood be able to heal themselves indefinetly.

btw I dont think Mohinder's having a bad reaction to the chemical, I think he's getting lizard powers(wall crawling/ skin shedding.)

So instead of being Peter Parker Mohinder is becoming Curt Connors. That actually is a better parallel.
