The play was called dead before anyone grabbed the ball. How is giving San Diego the ball more right than giving the ball to Denver when both sides should have stopped chasing the ball? And why is it inappropriate for a ref to blow a whistle dead when they think they see a pass? They can't be everywhere at once and have to make due with whatever angles they can get.

I haven't seen the footage in questions, although I've heard it described a few times. Did the San Diego player ever have possession of the ball - or even close to it - after Cutler dropped it?

Yes, he did ... but not before the whistle blew. Problem is that it's a fairly straightforward recovery for San Diego that would almost certainly not have been changed in any way by the lack of a whistle.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. That's two straight tough losses for the team that many had picked to challenge for the SFC championship. 0-2 can be deadly for any middle level team, but these guys are supposedly top shelf, so I have to believe they will eb there at the end. It's still a deep hole to climb out of, when Denver is looking awfulyl strong and New England isn't exactly rolling over to play dead.

Before the game, they showed a pregame poll. 47 states thought the Cowboys would win, 2 thought the Eagles would win. Some of those who can do math might notice that's only 49 states. but, if you look carefully, the states that predict Eagles victory were Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware and Delaware doesn't count as a state ;)

I don't know who's the happier player in the NFL: Donovan McNabb or Aaron Rodgers?!?!

New season, same old Detroit Lions.

They're just never good. Ever.

Year after year, bad as they were, I was behind them, they were my team, but this year I don't know what to do, I just can't be bothered. Someone at work was saying they might have a chance against Atlanta and I told them I wouldn't take them against any other team's second string, third string or practice squad.

And if I have to hear one more interview where someone says we just got to gear up for next week and put this behind us or whatever. Did they all grow up in these progressive kids leagues where they celebrate whether they win or lose? I want to hear somebody pissed off that they are playing like they are. Of course, I'm not hearing much because I just can't take it, I don't know if they'll ever be different unde the ownership of the Fords.

Yeah, they're totally going to win the Super Bowl. No way they don't after that convincing win.

This was such a shitty weekend. The Jets and the Mets both bent over for their hated rivals and it rained. I really hate Sept.

Quite the wild game on Monday night. The last thing I wanted for fantasy was a high scoring game, but it was fun to watch.
