How about those Dolphins???

That game wiped out about 3/4 of our town's "Loser Board"- and I'm not sure, but I think I was one of them (for the life of me, I can't remember who I picked). But I'm guessing I won't win that $6300 after all...

A lot of upsets (and near misses), but the game I really wanted to be an upset wasn't- I so wanted the Pack to beat Dallas. As a Packer fan living in Viking land, I have a feeling it's going to be a long week.

There's a lot of parity in the NFL this year... it ought to be fun. I don't think there will be any undefeated teams after next week.

^What do you mean? Denver's only going after KC next week. I say Denver has until week 7 before they are in any "real" danger of losing a game.

We won? How!?

Seriously, though, the Jaguars dominated that game on offense, aside from points scored. If we had one clutch receiver, the Colts would never have had a chance. Major props to Fred Taylor, MoJo, and especially kicker Josh Scobee. I swear, Scobee, I'll never say another bad word about you again. (Unless you miss an extra point or something. I'm fickle like that. :p)

While I'm very disappointed that the Packers lost to Dallas yesterday, I'm also not terribly surprised. No matter how well Green Bay seems to be doing in a season, Dallas rarely fails to evoke a kryptonite-like effect on them when they meet. If that weren't enough, the loss will probably add more fuel to the Aaron Rogers hate machine which is also something I didn't want to see happen. I know alot of people were looking at the Dallas/Green Bay game as a true test of his abilities considering Minnesota and Detroit aren't that strong. :o Here's hoping things will fair better for the Pack in the Battle of the Bays!

the coltd suffer big time in their run defense when sanders is missing.
i dont think they get through the playoffs and win the sb without him.
he was missing a big chunck of that season and teams were willingly running on them.

still peyton has a bad habit of leaving time on the board and with three time outs..

That was what did the Colts in in the end. We destroyed them in clock management, and apparently both coaches put too much faith in their defenses. (Del Rio would've gone for the TD instead of a field goal if he knew that the defense wouldn't stop the Colts, and Dungy would've forced better clock management on Manning if he knew that his defense wouldn't stop the Jags.)

And who would've thought that the division would ever be back to Jags vs. Titans? Assuming, of course, that Houston doesn't give us a shitfit, as usual.

Trent Green's been named the starting QB in St. Louis. How soon before he suffers a season-ending injury?

Good grief.

Panic has set it in big-time in St. Louis.

I can't imagine Green will fare much better. We'll keep losing and Bulger will be pissed.

I didn't have internet access but I still have some thoughts on Week 3:

-Niners are 2-1. It might be short lived but I'm happy they are 2-1. I did expect it though. The schedule now gets a little tougher even though I do think they could beat the Saints.

-I was in Miami when the Dolphins were playing and man the buzz was crazy. When I got home and got to see the highlights, I couldn't believe the Patriots never adjusted to what Miami was throwing at them. Also, from Belichek's news conference, he just looked befuddled and outcoached. What a bad loss for NE.

-I listened to the night game and Dallas sure is strong. I really hope they lose a game soon though. Don't really want to go through another season of maybe an undefeated team.

-I was watching the 4th quarter of the Monday Night game and I'm glad the Chargers finally won. However, there was a two point conversion from the Jets that was so long it was crazy. And then Farve throws instead of runs in from the quarter line? That was quite amusing.

-I really sucked in Pick'em this week. I really hope next week is better.

I'm sure CV is happy about this:

The Matt Millen era is over in Detroit.
The embattled Lions team president and chief executive officer is leaving the position, his wife told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
FOXSports.com first reported Wednesday that Millen had been removed from his position. It was unclear whether he had been fired or had resigned, according to the report.
The move comes two days after Bill Ford Jr., the son of team owner William Clay Ford, publicly said he would have fired Millen if he had the authority to do so.
The Lions are 31-84 under Millen. But until this point, the Lions have resisted widespread demands from fans seeking Millen's ouster.
According to the report, Millen had informed a number of employees about the change on Wednesday morning and had large packing boxes in his office.
ESPN NFL senior analyst Chris Mortensen contributed to this report.

Only saw the fourth quarter of the Denver game, and I gotta say: I think I'm looking forward to this season! They were looking great, and it sounds like that wasn't much of a change from the first three quarters. :D

The Chargers, who were jipped by the ref TWICE in that Denver game, have awakened..they destroyed Farve!!! We will win the AFC WEST, and we will chase down Cutler next time we play...

Charger Power!!

Rob

^Now, the refs only screwed them once, and even then he did the only things he could within the rules. The replay equipment had nothing to do with the refs.

Besides, if the Chargers wanted the West, it may be a good idea to focus less on stopping Cutler and more on stopping Marshall. Of course, as soon as you take Marshall out of the equation, there's Marshall Jr they have to fend off: Royal. ;)

The play was called dead before anyone grabbed the ball. How is giving San Diego the ball more right than giving the ball to Denver when both sides should have stopped chasing the ball? And why is it inappropriate for a ref to blow a whistle dead when they think they see a pass? They can't be everywhere at once and have to make due with whatever angles they can get.

Even the REF admits he made a mistake..so does his boss..

But the earlier play, that was clearly not a fumble, and challenged by the CHARGERS was far worse...the Replay machine didn't work? HUH? In case that happens again, they should be allowed to view the simple replay that we ALL saw on TV...could you imagine if something like that were to happen in the superbowl? The machine didn't work so they reward a touch down?

Denver got a gift, but it doesn't matter..chargers are a better team and will catch them eventually..

But the replay system DOES have to do with the Refs. The Refs should be allowed to have a back up system...TV. We are in the 21st century now. All they have to do is allow the REF to view the replay on the TV feed if his machine doesn't work...that call, more than the fumble that wasn't, cost the chargers the game.

But..were it not...I have NFL on Sirius and the executive commitee will look into allowing the refs to use TV feed if the machine doesn't work..wont help the chargers, but will go along way to correcting a simple problem..

If they're the better team- if. There may still be a lot of season to go, but keep the records in mind. ;)

I love football for this reason..I am a die hard charger fan, going back to the mid-70s. But if we can't win it, the AFC west, then Denver is always my second pick because I hate the Raiders and KC is too far away. And Shanahan has always been one of my fav coaches...

Cutler is a great quarterback...in fact, when I play Madden, I always trade Rivers to Denver, along with my number #1, for Cutler!!!...though Rivers is starting to look good too..

Rob

^I'll give you that. If I had to pick a second AFC team to win, it would be the Chargers simply because the big Denver/ Oakland prevents me from supporting them, and the Chiefs have never interested me too much.
