B5: What untold stories would you like to see?

Why Clark hated aliens to the point that he had to enslave his own people.

Well, just check out Monkey McBush's biography in a few years(if we all survive the fallout from his calamitous eight years)and see why he hates Muslims so much that he had to create the department of homeland security and curb so many of your highly vaunted and much heralded "freedoms" and "rahts".

You'll get your answers there.

:guffaw: Y'know...I really think you may wish to consider that it might be a good time to get down off that cross, use the wood to build a bridge, and GET OVER IT.

We're talking about Clark, and only Clark. Why not let the getting of a grip commence immediately?

And speaking of Clark: I always thought it was because of his being influenced by Psi Corps.

I want to see all about Major Atumbe, the supposed NightShift commander of Babylon 5

Is that a real character? Because in B5's rank system, a Major outranks a Captain, so such a person would be higher up than Sheridan.

(Earth's rank system is blended: ensign, 2nd LT, 1st LT, LCDR, CDR, Captain, Major, Colonel, General)

I actually recall that it mentioned a sword belonging to he thief lady which she was going to acquire in a later adventure JMS had not yet written because they would be filming out of order...
You're thinking of the season finale, "End of the Line"; "Value Judgments" didn't have the sword.

I really enjoyed Fiona Avery's script, "Value Judgments". It let us into the mind of perhaps the least developed of Crusade's characters: Lt. Matheson.
No way. That award has got to go to the doctor. Aside from her having some family back on Earth and IIRC, a bit of a bone to pick with God, nothing was really ever done with her doctor character in a show that was based around a killer plague.

Do I have to tell you AGAIN the story of Monkey McBush telling Melissa Gilbert that B5 was his favourite show?

Somebody should have whispered in his ear that it was a cautionary allegorical tale about identifying and fighting AGAINST the rise of fascist dictatorships.

Unfortunately, the imbecile had JUST ENOUGH brains to see it as a "how to..." manual.

Thanks JMS!!!

And I am supposed to give a flying fuck about that...WHY, exactly? Even assuming you didn't just make that up?

It's a rumor I've heard more than once around these parts, eliciting a big :cardie::wtf: from me every time. If it's true that he said it (which I doubt) I am extremely skeptical that he meant it.

Under what circumstances would he find himself talking to Melissa Gilbert in the first place?

I think it's entirely possible, that back when he was a drunk and a coke head before he found Jesus, That there were vast stretches of time where all he could do was watch Hours and hours of Babylon 5.

That was then, and this is now, but I mean I suspect that it is possible that he watches something on TV except for sports or COPS on the few rare 0ccassions that he isn't governing the free world?

I want to see how Mr Welles made it out the otherside of Sheridans return, it was nice seeing him on Crusade. That would be an excelent story to track as long as there is some indepth focuss on Julie Musante. Goodness she was just lovely is a rotten sort of way.

In the interest of accuracy, here's what JMS posted. Short version: Karl Rove told Bruce Boxleitner that he thought that B5 was the best SF series ever and that the President thought so, too.

Jan

And speaking of Clark: I always thought it was because of his being influenced by Psi Corps.

Yeah, that was the reason given on the show. But what disapointed me was that Clark didn't present his point of view personally. I was hoping for a Lost Tales episode that would do that.

As president of the Screen Actors Guild she and Bruce were once invited to a function at the White House.

I am sure Jan knows all the details.

Hell, she probably has copies of the invites, souvenir table napkins and the piece of toilet paper Melissa had stuck to her shoe when she used the bathroom.

Here's the link I posted earlier for anybody interested.

No, Dahling Tulin, I haven't seen that dear Melisa for simply ages, I'm afraid and, well, the last time was at that sweet memorial for Rick Biggs and don't you think it would've been just too, too gauche for us to discuss anything even remotely political in an inappropriate venue? I knew you'd understand, you sweet thing!

Kiss-kiss, love-love...bye! :p

Bush himself didn't say it, one of his spokespersons or reps said it. the reason one of his people was talking to Melissa might have been that Boxleitner is a huge right-winger, to the point he's even done I believe fill-in shows for Michael "Savage". In fact, my memory is faulty but the rep MIGHT have told Boxleitner himself who told Melissa.

edit: just read the posts above. those are probably more accurate than mine

this is based on nothing but my own hunch, but for some reason I believe Karl Rove is probably secretly a big sci-fi fan (or maybe not secretly). I do think the president comment was just pandering probably.

Can't you imagine Karl turning up tot he white house with his season one vhs tapes recorded off TV and forcing George to watch them because... It was really the only thing worth watching in the 90s except for Ally McBeal and Fraiser. Besides, in the scheme of things, how cool would it be for Karl that he totally identifies with Morden as a middle man that just wanted to make people happy. That's a year worth of self denial boners to say the least.

I want to see a redo of the Gathering from the perspective of the psi Corps Spy Laurel Takashima. Yes, I'm completely serious that she was supposed to be working for the Corps in the pilot, but dialogue was dropped because time was running short.

She was supposed to be a sleeper agent, but that role went to Talia Winters when the actress did not return for the series regular. This is slightly alluded to in her scene with Doctor Kyle where she discusses her time on Mars.

1) The rest of Crusade

2) I wanted to see what JMS planned for the Hand from LOTR

3) An film adaptation of PAD's Legion of Fire series-which was excellent BTW

4) The Telepath War

5) A return of the Thirdspace aliens
