Basically, what I'm saying is the "original" Ba'al symbiote has died twice. Once in "Dominion" and once in Continuum. That bothered me only a whole lot.

Remember, we saw a whole lot of Ba'al's die from the symbiont poison, which means he clones the snake as well as the body.

I can tell you now that you wont like it but then again I feel the same for all of us. There is nothing in the series finale that will make it settle well as a series finale because its supposed to be a cliffhanger type season finale so no clousre of any kind will get given.

TBH if they MGM knew that there was a huge chance that they would pull the plug over SCI FI (who seemed to wanted a 6th season), they should of told the writers don't write a cliffhanger ending or given SG-A a 21st episode.

MGM would make a lot of friends by just adding a 21st episode to the season, I mean they have plenty of time to write n film one.

At the end of the day, we're getting a 90 minute (which will be advertised as two hours) movie to finish things. This will have a much better budget than any 21st episode and they'll be able to take their time with the script.

It's a much better option than rushing together a final episode and giving the fans a "f*** you" ending like Farscape did.

^ Farscape ending was actually written as a season finale if you meant 4x22 (Season 5 had been greenlighted and then later on was canned due to SCI FI only wanting 13 episodes) and the PK wars was wonderful afterwards anyway.

I am worried about the movie being standalone from what Mallozi said ? They better wrap up whatever cliffhanger or do a very quick re-write.

Good to hear but I doubt we will get any real closure and we need at least several movies to wrap up all of Atlantis loose ends mainly The frickin Warith and the future of the Pegasus galaxy.

Hey, no reason to me as I'm not disagreeing with what cylkoth stated. I am just saying what GateWorld reported before the cancellation news:

The show's writers have previously confirmed that this season will end on a cliffhanger, regardless of whether or not the SCI FI Channel decides to pick up Atlantis for a sixth year.

So, unless GateWorld gave in to turning fan rumors into fact (which is not like the site at all), or someone is adjusting the truth somewhere.

It sounds like they're intentionally dialing back on the "cliffhanger" language to me. Since being canceled, they've walked back from it. Trying to drum up a desire for renewal and then doubling back once the cancellation notice has been handed down, perhaps?

I stand corrected. There is one thing that makes me happy about SG:A's ending.

And, just for the sake of specificity here, the show's not canceled in the Firefly or Farscape sense, it's ending and being replaced with another SG program.

In a loose sense of the term--"set on a starship" just doesn't gel with my idea of Stargate. (Which is part of why I prefer the earlier seasons of SG-1 and Atlantis--once they bring in starships and replacement villains--Anubis and the Ori, the not-really-Replicators--both shows went to pot.)
