What would you like to see in the finale episode of Season 5?

Well, Star Trek IV made it a thing first. Even though McCoy mentioned having money in the prior film.
Short Treks showed that bounty hunters expected even Starfleet ships to pay in latinum. And while the Fed doesn't use money in its economy, I don't know if they actually prevent private citizens from hoarding latinum. Since McCoy was in a shady bar as it was, he could've been paying with latinum that wouldn't have been recognized if he were trying to charter a legitimate Federation starship.

And Money is mentioned many times in TOS:

S1 - Errand Of Mercy:
KIRK: The Federation has invested a great deal of money in our training. They're about due for a small return. We have two hours with which to do it in.

S2 - I Mudd:
MUDD: Yes, well, I organised a technical information service bringing modern industrial techniques to backward planets, making available certain valuable patents to struggling young civilisations throughout the galaxy.

KIRK: Did you pay royalties to the owners of those patents?

MUDD: Well, actually, Kirk, as a defender of the free enterprise system, I found myself in a rather ambiguous conflict as a matter of principle.

SPOCK: He did not pay royalties.

MUDD: Knowledge, sir, should be free to all.

KIRK: Who caught you?

MUDD: That, sir, is an outrageous assumption.

KIRK: Yes. Who caught you?

MUDD: I sold the Denebians all the rights to a Vulcan fuel synthesiser.

KIRK: And the Denebians contacted the Vulcans.

MUDD: How'd you know?

KIRK: That's what I would have done.
But yeah they really doubled down on the No Money in the Federation aspect and retconned it anytime they mentioned earlier Federation eras like the 22nd century.

That makes sense but isn't it kind of to predictable as well? I still think Una might be put in charge of Starfleet Academy. Or at least become a techer. Pelia flys away with some guy in a box. La'an sacrifices her life to save the crew in the final episode before her genetics turn her into a a Khan like bad guy. Ortegas stays around to help Sulu become a better pilot since he is still mostly a botanist working in life sciences.
I actually think those are the more predictable predictions.

Every character getting a unique ending that removes them from the ship, to me, is actually the most predictable outcome - which is why I prefer part of the crew migrates away with Una. I definitely believe La'An is going to have a Khan moment but she will be pulled back from the brink by Una.

Actually, I do not think Pelia going away with the Doctor (Who) is the right outcome. She seems to have already gone on an adventure with him. With Disney dropping Dr. Who and its future in limbo, I think all of this will be passed off as Pelia having weird adventures by herself in her wild and crazy youth.

Spock got a happy ending. Apparently he went to Heaven and got to see Jim again after died in that Unification digital movie a couple of years ago.
I prefer the Shatnerverse novels, where Spock, Bones, Scotty and Kirk have old man adventures together in the 24th century.

Yep that was the point. They always mentioned money. Even "credits" a couple of times, which still counts.

Now in Star Trek IV, you could easily say they meant they're still using hard currency in the 20th century. And then "Price you name, money I got" still works because it makes sense for humanity to move onto something that other worlds could use. Even on Earth we're into crypto and all that. But less than a century later, Picard is all snooty toot about how money is the way of the apes and the guy who plunges the toilet does it because it's satisfying.

When it comes to Bones death I always preferred that comic book story were Spock visits him in his final moments. But that is not possible in canon of course because we know Spock died, spending his last years in the Kelvinverse.

I think that comic is possible since McCoy would've died before the destruction of Romulus.

Noonien - Singh DNA transforms to meglomaniac levels and she tries to take over the galaxy. Spock kills her to save the day and transforms into TOS Spock that we all recognise.

OR

Noonien - Singh hears a rumour about a lost ship of Augments and resigns her commission to find it. Spock mopes and transforms into TOS Spock that we all recognise.

Spock gets rejected by the new Vulcan ensign, mopes for 5 episodes and turns into TOS Spock that we all recognize

McCoy is seen drinking alcohol once or twice when on the job in TOS when he's really not supposed to be doing that (unless we assume it's synthehol). If there's a 1701 crewmember who's been hoarding latinum secretly for non-Federation use, it would be him.

Why, because he drinks? Hell, even Dr. Boyce in the very first episode ever produced had a cocktail with the Captain. Having a drink does not make one unable to perform one's duties. There's a big difference between having a drink and being drunk.
