Spoilers Spider-Noir discussion thread

They didn't confirm that his birth name was Peter Parker because it wasn't.

In the WWI flashbacks in Episode 5, one of the other soldiers explicitly calls him "Reilly", and, as noted by @JD, he didn't change his name until after the war.

My belief, based on what we were shown and told, is that Ben's legal birth name was Peter Reilly (the name that he enlisted under and the name that Ogden Faber and the other soldiers he both served with and rescued knew him by) and that he changed his first name to Ben after the war.
There were several indications, if not overt statements, that Ben's mental state was always a little shaky post-bite. I took the other soldier's calling him "Reilly" as a misremembering on his part caused by the aforesaid mental state.

Small observation - I had been wondering where they filmed this. Sounds like Los Angeles and real locations. But I knew they used a backlot too. In 2nd episode I recognized Warner Bros New York Street. The Mayor gives a speech at same corner that was Daily Planet on Lois & Clark. Fitting - that backlot was used for a lot of classic Film Noirs Warner Bros produced.
Definitely LA, literally right down the street from where I live and the exact same place they shot parts of Wonderman.

i can imagine a season of spider noir about the multiverse where a bunch of different verisons of the spider verse characters show up on ben rileys earth aka earth 1930s

which of course the different verisons of the spider verse characters names would either have there names spelt differently because of trademark issues and or with different names but with the same inisials also because of trademarks issues

No he didn't, that was a different Peter Parker Spider-Man Noir. He just happened to also be played by Nicholas Cage.
And in general just because a character took part in a crossover outside of their series, doesn't mean that a crossover would be appropriate for their series. Just look at Lucifer, while Luci did show up in the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths, that doesn't mean that The Flash or Supergirl would have fit in on his show.

Same actor, completely different character.

as in lol lol the spider from the sony animated spiderverse is different from the spider from the tv show spider noir

which means if you think about it

the spider from the tv show spider noir is from 1 verison of earth 1930s and the spider from the sony animated spiderverse is from a different verison of earth 1930s

Yeah, that's what "different character" means

Yeah, that's what "different character" means

lol oh ok

because its like i said if spider noir did do a season where a bunch of different verisons of the spiderverse characters were in the ben riley aka the spiders earth which is earth 1930s and some of the alternate verisons knew him and have met him before then it would be because of the spider aka ben reileys encounters with some of them during his adventures in the sony animated spiderverse movies

Seems like an odd decision after it apparently did so well. I enjoyed what we got though, so I can always rewatch.

I guess we'll just have to dream a little dream about what the second season would have been like! ;)

Merde like this is why I don't watch much streaming TV now. Why get into something? If it's good, it costs money to be that way and that makes it more likely to be cancelled.
I've gotten into that mindset to some extent too. I often wait until a series is over before trying it, unless it's something that really interests me. There are a lot of old shows and movies I can enjoy in the meantime!
