Predictions for Star Trek under Skydance?

“It happens all the time, but it doesn’t matter in the cases I don’t care about and it matters a lot when I decide it matters.”

Do Andorians have ears? What size are their antennae? Where do they grow from?

I’m old enough to remember when the Borg had babies and didn’t assimilate people from other species.

In terms of continuity stuff, I think the Trials and Tribble-ations approach is the best - a jokey throwaway line. Designs change as shows go on and clearly TOS era stuff wasn't going to look it had come straight from the 60s (sure Enterprise did it but that was for one episode). I liked how (early) Discovery and SNW very much feel like that era tech wise despite being looking more technologically advanced.

I love the updated uniforms of those shows as they feel the most like clothing people would wear on a ship like that, given they need to be comfortable and are likely to get dirty and scuffed on a regular basis. The Disco uniforms may be my fave Trek uniforms, especially the Enterprise variants.

There's a marked difference between a less sophisticated alien prosthetic vs a better one (and of course some individuals look a little different than others), and some face paint vs a whole uniquely alien set of facial features and bone structure.

Yep - established in the Borg's 1st appearance TNG S2 Q-Who where they also NEVER said "Resistence is futile..." <--- That line was first uttered in TNG S3 BoBW Part I.

And I bring the latter up because ENT S2 Regeneration (which I also honestly didn't care for) got flack because the Borg didn't say it to Capt. Archer.

But yeah, some Trek fans are VERY SELECTIVE as to what they consider "Enforceable canon..." ;)

Totally think they are going for a full 100% reboot this time. I have no issue with that. I just hope it's good and they think it through and don't have it all over the place. Set up a new universe Bible. Have all the rules straight up front. Keep things consistent. I will be extremely happy if they can achieve that.

Anybody gonna hold their breath ...

Paramount Confirms New Star Trek Movie Is (Still) In Development

WE MEAN IT THIS TIME, HONEST!

Remember when they announced the Kelvin cast were returning and they all immediately reacted, "no we're not? You haven't contacted us and we aren't available at the time you've announced filming for anyway?"

They did say “Resistance is futile” in ‘Regeneration’, it was “We are the Borg” that they conveniently didn’t say. Although I don’t think it was first said until BoBW either.

i wonder if its gonna be new star trek movies in the kelvin verse or new star trek movies in a fresh start brand new star trek movies universe
Well we don’t really know anything, but the line “a new take on the Star Trek universe and not connected to any previous or current television series, movie or prior movie development projects” is a clue that it’s the latter.
