Academy's setting can be interpreted in several ways and so far the year has not been said out loud so we have nothing super duper concrete. We know it starts in autumn of one year and crosses into the next so the show can't be set all in one year but there are several candidates for your head scratching consideration.

I think path of least resistance is B. Someone said the stardates in Disco don't account for the one year time jump in Season 3 and the SFA ones are therefore out by a year, 92/93 rather than 91/92.

They don't line up but then they kept the convention of 1000 dates a year going afterwards. We've ignored worse though, we are very good at that.

Until we get a specific year stated on-screen, I'm going to treat off-screen material as the go. Spoken Dialogue > VFX > Off-screen confirmation > Background details > Minutiae such as stardates in my ranking of how true something is.

DSC Season 4 was 3190, so it would be 3193-94 if we're going 3 years after the first class seen in Discovery.

Edit: Wait I math'd wrong, the poll is right

Pretty impressive! I forget, when did they mention a Earth calendar date again to figure out all those dates? :)

I just used a stardate translator and then just references within the episodes, and a calendar for 3191 and 2 I found online.

Ah, gotcha. Would have been so neat if they had only mentioned even one of those dates in episode, because then we would have been able to know most of the others.

Which others have mentioned doesn't really work properly ever since they messed up on Discovery. And 3191 is too early for there to be third-year cadets.

It works enough for the purpose, which is to see how the events work over twelve months - which is why I've put the years as 319(1) and 319(2).

3195-3196 is now confirmed as the correct answer meaning Tilly's cadets from Discovery are now out there somewhere as ensigns and she just teaches unnamed third years currently.

I assume this is based on the "Class of 3196" in "Rubincon" as part of the credits at the end?

In the US, "Class of XXXX" typically refers to the year of (expected) graduation. Since they are first year cadets, this could imply Season 1 takes place earlier (e.g. 3192-3193).

As someone else noted in the episode thread, the credits graphics aren't consistent, placing the non-cadet characters in the "Class of 3196".

well according to the references by starfleet teacher jett when she and the rest of her crew from discovery time traveled to the future it was i think about thousands of years later

which would mean of course star trek starfleet academy is set about after that which would also be set after the aftermath of infamous burn ended when everyone can travel across space again

Did the end credits for "Rubincon" indicate that we are now in summer 3196? That's my read on the "Class of 3196" anyway (since it wasn't just the kids included, so I don't think we can interpret that as their graduation year).
