So watchmojo have given a platform to a hater which is both disappointing and surprising -
Well you answered the question yourself, in the bolded section. If you go look at all the ratings you will see a decline in the ratings, only difference I think is season 3 of picard. Season 5 of disco, and season 3 of SNW have a decent decline.Looking through imdb reviews, the attitude seems to widely be that people are deeply fed up with how Star Trek's been written in recent years, and feel that the franchise has been diluted to the point of meaninglessness. I think that's a very defensible position and one that I largely share, but then why does this show catch all the flak? It's no more egregious than DSC, PIC, SNW, and LD in that regard.
As someone who's enjoying SFA with cautious optimism I do actually get how on the face of it, it could feel like the most cynical corporate misuse of the Star Trek license so far (barring Scouts), but I think anyone who actually sits down to watch the show will find it surprisingly enjoyable at best, or disappointing but not really more abrasive than DSC/PIC at worst - certainly nothing that'd explain it being rated 3 whole stars less than DSC on imdb. Then again some people seem to really hate the way Ake sits in chairs.
If people stop watching it will happen faster.Well you answered the question yourself, in the bolded section. If you go look at all the ratings you will see a decline in the ratings, only difference I think is season 3 of picard. Season 5 of disco, and season 3 of SNW have a decent decline.
I think this is just continuing the trend, but it might be absorbing the the same decline that disco was getting.
DS9's ratings sank further down almost every week it was on the air. Of all the Trek shows, only TNG's ratings climbed after its first year.Well you answered the question yourself, in the bolded section. ? Not using an old ranking system for the streaming shows. It's also a streaming show so it's bizarre to use the old ranking system.
Those same skirts also disappeared rather fast. Not at all. I'm just playing devils advocate here........no one had much of an issue with the Starfleet skirts in TNG. Well maybe some did but I don't remember hearing much complaints. So I'm just wondering if this is the issue some people are having. If all the cadets were wearing the skirts would there even be this 10 page discussion????
I was not talking about viewership, I was replying to why the negativity in the rating system.DS9's ratings sank further down almost every week it was on the air. Of all the Trek shows, only TNG's ratings climbed after its first year.
That's a Kilt, not a skirt.
This might be one of the genuinely dumbest takes I've read in my 17 years of posting here. So because a Klingon has never been depicted in a skirt, they can never be depicted in one? They have to be a monoculture that never evolves, is that it?
Why are you even a fan of a show that has a core message of infinite diversity, in infinite combinations?

Tell me you didn't watch the video without saying you didn't watch the video. So watchmojo have given a platform to a hater which is both disappointing and surprising -

Because you said this,,,,Tell me why you think I didn't watch the video, please.
What part of that video was hating? He was pointing out, with detail, criticisms that fans have of the show. There was no "hating" as you put it. So you either didn't watch it, or have a very warped interpretation of hating. So watchmojo have given a platform to a hater which is both disappointing and surprising -
The main difference between a kilt and a skirt comes in its cultural and historical significance, not its structure. Tradition makes it more socially acceptable for males to wear one if they choose to, and James Bond chose to.That's a Kilt, not a skirt.
Calling the kind of kvetching going on here "constructive" is torturing the language. As I've pointed out already in this thread, you guys can't handle constructive criticism.

Again I ask...where was the hating? It shouldn't be hard to provide details since you watched it right?Except he didnt - and he certainly wasn't being constructive. He can't even be bothered to pronounce a character name correctly.
