Star Trek passings

He had quite a variety of shows and movies in his career. Including Shang Tsung in MORTAL KOMBAT. (And voiced him in later games.)

Memorable, sinister voice when he played a villain.

R.I.P., sir.

Tagawa always had such presence. He had ''It'' as much as Clara Bow, in a much different way. His biggest film role may be RISING SUN, with a character so resilient he essentially died twice. He was also quite cool in the short-lived SPACE RANGERS television show.

When his character died in Tim Burton's PLANET OF THE APES, I was absolutely furious. Granted, he was buried so deeply in extra makeup that he may have been less recognized for that film.

He also did a short single-episode stint on Babylon Five as one of Garibaldi's senior security personnel (Morishi). Always wanted to see him in more of that, and it seemed like he might have been poised to play a recurring character, but he disappeared just as quickly as he appeared, never to be seen again without explanation. Julia Nickson (as Captain Catherine Sakai, Sinclair's fiancé) suffered a similar appear-disappear fate from that show (3 episodes), with zero resolution of her character's mysterious disappearance.

Steve Chvany has passed, age of 54, friend of Terry Matalas. Steve played characters on both Voyager and Enterprise; a co-pilot in Voyager's 'Drive' and a monk in Enterprises's 'The Andorian Incident'.

Greg Reeves has passed, age unknown. He played a bar patron in Voyager's episode 'Non Sequitur'.

She wrote Code of Honor, but she also wrote Past Prolouge, which is a great early DS9 episode. Everyone writes a dud or two in their careers.
I guess the script isn't the worst thing about Code of Honor. Casting, direction probably much more guilty.

Past Prologue is very good.

Make the aliens in Code of Honour the usual generic nose prosthetic people instead of Africa planet and it would be just another forgotten early TNG episode.

The more I look back the more I see what bull the idea is DS9 only gets good with the ship and beard is. Season 1 is full of quality.

There is a lot of great stuff in early DS9, and Season 2 is my third favorite season of the show, behind Season 5 and 4. I guess I much prefer the Bajoran religion and Maquis storylines than the Dominion War for the most part.

Mel Gold has passed, age unknown. He played a bar patron in ST:Voyager's episode 'Someone to Watch over Me.'
