That's a little disappointing, hopefully at least one of the legacy actors will be willing make the move to do it.
Oh, I totally forgot Origins even existed, since I never bothered to watch it.
You and most fans. Accidentally, or willingly.

No, I wouldn't say that.is it more forgotten than the cartoon?
So we get British forrests as the backdrop for alien worlds...Will this be the first Stargate series not produced in Vancouver? Or was it Toronto?

RDA was also filming SG-1 when it was 22 episodes a year (later down to 20, and Universe was also 20) and that meant filming took place over like 8 to 9 months. One of the biggest reasons why it was so hard for tv actors to film movies is because of just how much of their schedule was taken up by that tv show. Sometimes they'd try to tweak the schedule to give an actor maybe a few weeks off at the end or beginning of production of season to make a movie work.Shoe will still be on the other foot.
Whoever they cast for an American will have to spend a significant time in London.
RDA sacrificed for awhile till he needed to be closer to his family
I think Robert Caryle found it difficult to be so far away from family too
This also means it won’t be so easy for the regular StarGate actors in Canada to visit that much

Eight to ten episode streaming seasons actually take close to if not exactly as long to film as network/cable seasons of twenty-plus episodes. It's one of the factors in why the streaming bubble has burst in recent years. This new series is going to probably be more like the 8-10 episode route. Which significantly reduces the time an actor would need to be staying at the location of the shooting. Also the ability to have a shorter season means the entire season will be written out and you can film actors/scenes out of sequence for episodes if needed.
I guess it depends on the show. I really doubt Amazon is going to let the show go the Rings Of Power route and take like 1 month (or more) for each individual episode.Eight to ten episode streaming seasons actually take close to if not exactly as long to film as network/cable seasons of twenty-plus episodes. It was Vancouver and the surrounding areas. Mountains, rain forest, waterfront spaces and small towns all within easy driving distance. Back in 90s, The X-Files and Andromeda were also filmed there. So we get British forrests as the backdrop for alien worlds...
I now want to hear a new alien say: "Bring me...A SHRUBBERY!"

Of course. It is a big industry there now, but in the 90s there were only a handful of science fiction and fantasy shows being produced. Back then, many shows filmed in Canada had, what I considered, a "cheap" look to them. You could always seem to be able to pick out a Canadian production as it seemed to reek of a low budget. Stargate and X-Files seemed to be the exceptions for SF&F back then. And countless other shows and movies.
Maybe Nicola Bryant can dust off her American accent.Whoever they cast for an American will have to spend a significant time in London.
