The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

Exactly. Baffles me when eg Anthony Horowitz (whose Bond books I like) said that they boxed themselves in by the end of NTTD and that audiences wouldn’t be able to understand how Bond had come back to life. Well, we managed to understand that the rookie OO agent in Casino Royale wasn’t the Cold War dinosaur we’d seen in Goldeneye.

The same way people accepted that Affleck and Pattinson were both Batman even after seeing Bale either blown to bits or retire in The Dark Knight Rises. And while you could potentially argue that Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney were all supposed to be the same Bats, Bale definitely wasn't.

You didn't mention Adam West

Time for some satire....

I haven't watched these fully even though I have had them a while but got the two Flint movies and have ordered a movie called "Some Girls Do" which is a satire of James Bond made in the 60s with the main character of Bulldog Drummond in the Bond role but that's a pre-order from Via Vision.

Fun fact: Some Girls Do is a sequel to another Bulldog Drummond movie, Deadlier Than the Male. The star of those two movies, Richard Johnson, was one of the actors considered for James Bond in Dr. No.

I couldn't find Deadlier Than The Male . Still looking for versions that are not bootlegs

I have a non-bootleg dvd of Deadlier Than the Male that I bought a number of years ago, and a quick check on ebay has an Australian blu-ray for sale for AU$ 189.90. I'm surprised that Via Vision just has the sequel and not the first movie.
OK I'm not paying that much for an old movie no matter what..... I'll check the last place on my list Amazon, and found an italian copy, hopefully not a bootleg

I must be fundamentally misunderstanding what is going on, here…

90 bucks, 120 bucks, 189.90 Aussie bucks…

WTF???
