Spoilers Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

He has a right to give his opinion. Fateor can review every single episode here if he wants.
Sure he can, but everyone else also has the right to call him out on his overt hatred for the show.
Which BTW, has been very obvious even before the first episode aired.

It's one thing to be critical, it's another to just constantly be a total jerk about it.

You of all people, should be well aware of that.

Well aware of what? I haven't even given my review. What are you referring to?

So the Burn justifies the Federations justice system becoming worse then the Klingon Empires?

Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree on that. Because disasters like that are supposed to be when morals are put to the test, not discarded wholesale.
Not to state the obvious, but have you been paying attention at all as to how things are being done by the current US Presidential Administration.

Seems to me that there is a perfect example of how wrong you are with that post.

Sure, Jan.
We’ve been talking about it behind the scenes and would like to ask you to reduce your use of the "Sure, Jan" meme to a minimum. It reads like a mean-spirited, thinly veiled personal attack, ridiculing those who are saying something negative about the show. Disagree with each other, but don’t attack other posters. Thanks.

They want to set up an arc where we see the Federation "lost its way" for awhile, in order to have it built back up again into something stronger than before. It's a much more mature arc than what Discovery intimated, where everything other than the scope of the Federation was back to normal by the start of Season 4.

Even in Berman Trek, there were plenty of stories which showed that the Federation was often imperfect at reaching its ideals. It was never utopian, just stretching towards it a bit better than we do.

Yes, I have. But you really don't want to have that discussion here.

How was it shown as being worse in any way?
The Klingon government at least gave you a trial with the right to a defense lawyer before sending you away to a penal colony for life.

There's a difference between "even utopia has it's shadows" and "we're the bag guys".

I'll go ahead and say I consider myself a fan of SFA. I liked Discovery and Prodigy, and this series feels like both, so it makes sense that I'd be a fan of this.

So far, I'm liking it better than DIS and PIC. Both shows suffered from not knowing what they were, where I think this show has a very good idea of that.

The final test will be the fifth episode. That's the thing I wanted to see how they handle. Still is. If they do it well... then this is what I'll say: I still think the show will only run two seasons, because I really think we're in the late stage of this production era, but it'll be a great two seasons to watch.
