LEGO Enterprise rumors

Just means was it built without putting any strain on the Lego bricks. That’s considered an illegal build if so.

While I can't for sure answer that question, they sure look sturdy enough. Just search LEGO Star Trek in Google images and you can find the exact replica I'm talking about. There's an Enterprise-D LEGO fan made set that looks to be roughly 8" to 12" long that blows the official release right out of the water.

EDIT: The set I'm talking about is apparently called a MOC Midi scale Enterprise-D. But my point is that if fans can do it so well on such a small scale, why does the official LEGO set which looks much bigger look so terrible?

Well, matching the angle, the fan-made one isn't quite as impressive.

There are a lot of MOCs, they all suffer from the same issues to one extent or another, which is that making a Galaxy class ship out of bricks is really difficult.

The officially licenced BlueBrixx sets had plenty of problems too...

One thing that is notable about the Lego model is that there's no stabiliser under the saucer, which a lot of MOCs and the above BlueBrixx set required. And the Lego saucer detaches too.

It’s just a weird thing recently with Lego. Not calling their new build of Slave 1 that name and rather calling it Boba Fett’s spaceship. The Black Pearl as well just being called Jack Sparrow’s ship.
Well Slave I was probably a Disney or LucasFilm decision, as it hasn't officially been called that in years. Even the Databank entry on the official website was changed to 'Boba Fett's Starship'. A recent comic just calls it 'Boba Fett's Firespray'. I think it's safe to say the name has been retired.

Black Pearl may have been as well because in Fortnite the Black Pearl glider is also just called 'Jack's Ship'

Hmm. Just kind of shows the madness of trying to replicate the curviest, most organic Enterprise in Lego

But the blocky shuttlepod looks amazing.
Who would have thought LEGO would actually improve on a Starfleet design (El Baz). It looks better than the original.

I miss the South Bend Electronic Enterprise approach…keep the lovely curves—and you can have modularity without vehicles having LEGO’s famous plastic smallpox…best used for Section 31 ships.

In the meantime

Lego is the clear winner there. Better geometry, much nicer nacelles and neck, more detailed captain's yacht and aux deflector.

The main issue with the Lego version is the shape of the main deflector, but BB isn't right either. I guess that is really something that might have needed a bespoke element to do properly.

The Slave I thing began years ago when Lego was uncomfortable using the word "Slave" on the boxes of one of their products. They requested an alternative name from Lucasfilm, who decided to call it a Firespray class ship. IIRC, Lucasfilm does still consider the ship to be called Slave I, but they have been pushing the Firespray designation so that Lego didn't stick out like a sore thumb to the point that I think Boba Fett himself even referred to the ship as "my Firespray" in The Book of Boba Fett.

I have no idea the situation behind the Black Pearl.

A Lego Designer said it was a request from
Disney

Jens: Then, the next one, also from The Mandalorian, is Boba Fett’s Starship.

Michael: Yes, I built another. We’re not calling it Slave I any more. This is Boba Fett’s Starship.

James: OK, why are we dropping the Slave I name?

Jens: Everybody is. It’s probably not something which has been announced publicly but it is just something that Disney doesn’t want to use any more.
