LEGO Enterprise rumors

I so want the Enterprise D. For those who are more LEGO-acquainted are these sorts of releases in demand, a bit of a bun fight? Can you pre-order online or do I need to go to a shop?

Thanks.
Yeah you can pre-order for home delivery. Commonly you get a free gift if you order direct from Lego, usually a small extra set, sometimes related to the set.

For example, the new Death Star set that was recently announced had an exclusive TIE fighter set to add to the Death Star for early pre-orders.

Rumours suggest the equivalent for the Enterprise-D will be a shuttlecraft with Ensign Ro figure.

But the Enterprise set itself will probably be around for a few years. Sometimes they initially sell out quite quickly if they are in demand, but Lego does restock frequently until a set is officially retired.

Had a dream last night about the LEGO Star Trek announcement. The website was updated to include pics of a ginormous Lego Enterprise-D which opened up in the saucer to show the Bridge, sickbay and ten forward, and the stardrive opened to depict main engineering. The ship was out of proportion due to the various interiors but it was super cool. It was like in the old Playmates Innerspace Enterprise-D playset where the viewscreen in the bridge had swappable viewscreens, all the freestanding bridge consoles swiveled and the warp core and nacelles lit up. I don't even remember how much it cost in my dream but it must've been a fortune.

A bridge set seems an obvious thing to do - they've done a lot of sets for TV sitcoms like Friends, The Office and Seinfeld, so an Enterprise bridge would fit in well.

I wonder how they'd handle the complex curves of the set?

They wouldn’t.

LEGO should be confined to MINECRAFT ;)

A better approach would be like the old Electronic Enterprise with smooth hulls and nacelles, but Snap-ship style.

I think LEGO tried something similar with figures years ago—but it didn’t sell.

Yeah, I saw that and wondered if it might be the Trek set. The rumours were for a Black Friday launch, so not much longer either way.

Hmm. Just kind of shows the madness of trying to replicate the curviest, most organic Enterprise in Lego bricks! They've done a pretty good job considering the challenge. I still maintain the bridge would have been a better choice.

Still going to get it though! It looks like a really interesting build.

But the blocky shuttlepod looks amazing. It would make a really nice, inexpensive, set in its own right, but the only way to get it is to spend $400 on the Enterprise.

-sigh-

I have waited nearly 30 years for a LEGO Star Trek set. I suppose it's not fair for me to be so critical now, but the Enterprise-D is among my very favorite starship designs ever. Looking at this all I can think is, "Look how they massacred my girl."

And don't come at me with "curved shapes are difficult to do with LEGO". It's blatantly false. I've seen fan-made LEGO Enterprise-D's that were less than a quarter the size of this ugly thing get it perfectly right with the curves and the proportions. At this scale it's truly unforgivable. And that's just the issue with the curves! Where is all the detail on this thing? You're seriously gonna just put beige accent pieces (angled ones at that) on there to represent escape pods or transporter emitters or whatever the hell those things are supposed to be and then call it a day? If LEGO can do the millennium falcon thirty times over and have it come out right, this should look a lot better.

This whole thing looks lazy at best and Temu-style ripoff at worst. Star Trek fans have watched for decades while literally EVERY other IP gets LEGO representation, and then when we finally get it it is just awful. Y'all have fun if you can with this. I guess I'm gonna save $400 and spend maybe a quarter of it on some Nacelle figures.
