Discovery characters you predict will appear in Starfleet Academy

I doubt that Holly Hunter, Paul Giamatti or Robert Picardo will be the main characters on this show. The cadets will be the main protagonists that carry the plot and take up the most of the screen time with everyone else in a supporting role, much like a Lieutenant on a police procedural, a resident or attending on a medical drama or in fact the “upper deckers” on Lower Decks.

Hunter, and Picardo (along with Tig Notaro) are literally members of the main cast, so we should presume they're in every episode. Hell, Hunter's being given top billing.

Giametti is not, however, so I expect him to weave in and out, like Vance and Tilly.

Even if they are in the main cast, the doesn't guarantee they'll be in every episode these days.

Is she? I was unaware the billing order had been revealed, as we typically don't find out something like that until the show actually premieres, outside of situations where the lead is listed above the title. Which doesn't seem to be the case with Hunter.

I’m confused, where did I claim anything one way or the other about Hunter, Picardo, Giamatti (or Notaro) being in every episode? I also didn’t mention “main cast”, but used “main characters” and “main protagonists”. Perhaps I did so erroneously, but I thought with the examples I gave I illustrated pretty well how I defined “main character” in this instance: S. Epatha Merkerson, Steven Hill, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr. and Dawnn Lewis were certainly part of the “main cast” of their respective shows and got named in every opening title sequence of the seasons that they were part of. And yet I wouldn’t say Lieutenant Van Buren, district attorney Adam Schiff, doctors Bailey and Webber and Captain Freeman were the “main protagonists or characters” on their respective shows, but they were clearly detectives Briscoe and Curtis, assistant DAs Jack McCoy and Claire Kincaid, interning doctors Grey and Yang and ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford. They were the main focus of the stories in those shows and got the most screen time devoted to them. And although I could obviously be wrong, I suspect it will be like that with the cadets on Starfleet Academy as well.

Mary Wiseman is allegedly only going to be in one episode in season 1. This comes from an industry insider, so grain of salt. But I’m sure if she was in many it would have been said

I'm gonna throw this one out.
Ben Sisko may or may not appear, but if his presence is more significant than a throwaway monitor,
We have the Doctor from Voyager, who has no connection but is old.
Who else is old, but not really?
Dax.
Someone has the Dax Symbiont on this show.
Who is it, and why?

Dax is dead by this time. Bix was the oldest symbiont on record when it died and received its first host when Dax was already over 300 years old so Dax has been dead for a good century or two if it died of old age and wasn't killed by some other means.

I'd prefer it that way, but I'm expecting the writers to cook up "Somehow."
Somehow involving time travel, and the Dax Symbiont just shows up, but it's kept a secret until the end.
