I thought it was way better than Lost in Space that was airing on CBS. I watched them both, but liked Star Trek better."The Man Trap" - on the show's NBC premiere, I was there. I wasn't sure if I liked the series or not, but it was science fiction and I found that at least was appealing. I thought the crew, as presented in that episode seemed too big, and it was somewhat hard to grab onto which characters were important. At that point in time, no-one was familiar with a Kirk, or a Spock, or Vulcans, or what the size of the ship was and who they represented. All of that was to come with later familiarity.
Beautifully crafted walnut cabinet. The legs matched the sofa and love seat legs of my parent's 1960s post-modern living room furniture, purchased around the same time as the TV.That’s a thing of beauty.
Gorn vs White Rabbit!!!!
Screens were so round in those days. You missed seeing an incredible amount of the film frame and never knew it.I thought it was way better than Lost in Space that was airing on CBS. I watched them both, but liked Star Trek better.
This was the model of RCA Victor color TV my dad purchased in the early 1960s. My father was also Red/Green color-blind. The set cost about the same as a new car. But at least I got to watch Star Trek in color.

That's a good reason for an excuse to rewatch in syndication, when the CRTs were improved. Although for me, a rewatch doesn't need an excuse.Screens were so round in those days. You missed seeing an incredible amount of the film frame and never knew it.
