In terms of Superman murdering Zod in MoS, doesn't he also murder Zod in Superman II as well? Zod's human at this point, Supes picks him up and throws him against the wall before he falls to his death!

The Donner movies had a lot of campy slapstick to them, and the defeat of the Kryptonians was supposed to be part of that.

Someone else made this comparison to explain:

"When Wile E Coyote falls off that cliff, again and again, does he die? No, it's goofy slapstick meant to elicit laughs."

However, Superman DOES sadistically torture Zod and do a lot of other questionable things throughout Superman 2 which makes it an inferior movie to Superman 1.

In Kevin Smith's unproduced Superman Lives script, polar bears guarding the entrance to Superman's Fortress of Solitude were included at the request of producer Jon Peters. The bears would have risen from the ground as Superman's visitors approached, a detail that became a well-known part of the film's troubled production history.

I rarely ever see the type you refer to, but in the past three months, the triggered Gunn-lovers have been in emotionally rattled / attack mode on many platforms about an old film, and still pissed off that Gunn's movie did not become the top grossing Superman film...which they were pretty much promising it would. Their fantasies aside, that group is quite the emotional train wreck.

I just think it's sad that instead of just enjoying a movie people need to divided themselves in a Snyder camp and a Gunn camp and fight over a fictional character.
I loved the Snyder movies. Haven't seen the Gunn version yet, I'm pretty sure I will enjoy it a lot. Maybe love that as well.
