It's Trek Disruptor Blast. Some old Trek media had something like it so I went looking for it and found it pretty quickly.

I thought of mentioning TAS but decided not to. Still, we have Riker and Data introducing the concept of the holodeck even though it was around a century earlier, same design and all. Maybe this holodeck-adventure-gone-bad causes them to shelve it? Guess we'll find out.
That was pretty much retconned out. Holodecks become a well used piece of technology.

That is the worse Kirk impression ever. Bring on the muppets, or Jim Carey.

Yeah that's the big downside of doing a prequel - you CANNOT do any of the popular stuff that's canonically encountered only later for the first time in-universe:

No Borg, no holodecks, no Romulans, no Q, no Ferengi, no cloaking devices, no androids, no group-beaming, no Section 31, no Gorn, no Mirror Universe

Naturally, I expect all of these things to pop up.
With only the flimsiest of excuses.
But, enough about ENTERPRISE ;)

I blame Voyager.

When Paul Wesley's Kirk mentions "jurisdiction" and said that he is known for this "diction", I think that was not only a joke about how William Shatner speaks but also a "dick" reference! OMG! That is SOOOOO smart!

There was a Holodeck-like room in TAS, which is considered canon.

And Riker was only impressed with how realistic the Ent-D's holodecks were, there was nothing that said when they were invented. In fact later series implied they existed years before TNG Season 1.

That's a lot of words to admit this show lives rent-free in your head when you could easily choose not to watch and/or bitch about a show you don't like.
