That is true, but whether it was a system used in the TMP era is another matter.
Back, and time for a new project:
Star Trek Online's Okinawa Class (yes, I am aware it was from another game first). Has some nice design ideas, but... Yeah, doesn't work for me. So, let's reimagine it and make it work:
In the early stages, there's a lot of work and tweaking to do, but I feel it's sitting better now.
Also:

Is she on the same scale as the Akayazi or larger?

She's currently 253m long, not sure how that fits with the Akayazi.

It's something I'm looking at. No progress for a while, Vasculitis has flared up again (large cell this time, which means it's attacking me on the inside as well). I will be back, but when things are under control. Whatever that is.Yowza… That is one chunky monkey of a secondary hull.

Rebuilt the saucer to remove the undercut. Started again on the impulse deck.

Thoughts on this iteration of the SNW Connie - if I do this right, I should be able to get at least two different ship classes out of this build. How accurate am I going to be? They will fit in with the SNW universe, but with a few twists. Never been a fan of the grungy hull look Eaves gave her, I think I can do better than that.

That's an idea, but I'm going to see where this goes. It's a rather complicated ship in terms of detail. But then, I love complex detail, lol.
