What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

TMP is superior to TWOK and the rest of the TOS films.

TFF is a solid Star Trek film that suffered by following an epic trilogy as well as other factors.

TNG's first two seasons have a spirit and tone that is far more compelling, interesting, and fun than the seasons that followed.

TOS deserved another TV series, which would have likely been far better than the films.

The TNG films are awful and don't exist in my head canon.

The Enterprise-B should have been a standard Excelsior Class starship.

TNG treated the TOS characters horribly with the exception of McCoy and Spock, though the latter was severely underused.

Riker died as a character when Picard survived "The Best of Both Worlds." Thomas Riker could have fixed that problem but should have happened in the fourth season.
Agreed on the Enterprise-B, furthermore the Enterprise-C should have been the Probert version.

While the Enterprise-C as shown was good it wasn't great...too industrial looking.

The background for the series wasn't extensive enough. The Enterprise-C should have marked a planned transition between the old way of doing things, and a new way that indicates the realization of just how slow/how large the Galaxy is and the Federation's limitations in terms of technology.

So, the Enterprise-C should be a generation ship...specifically designed for generational missions. Gets too populated, and colony is started up. As to warp factor six "now" being up to one light-year per hour...this problematic at best. Why? Because it raises several questions immediately, like just how fast was warp factor six at the time of TOS.

I can easily live with FASA'S idea that the Excelsior class were first warp factor twelve ships(continuous), but, this leads to further problems.

And for script writing purposes, they should have paid attention to the novel 'The Andromeda Strain', as a measure of the degree of difficulty for finding current technological equals. Unlikely at best. Refer to the page in the novel that lists the probability of finding human level capabilities in an alien lifeforms. The author states that we are capable handling level seven + data.

It took me decades to realize that the author was referring to the significance of our brain mass to body mass ratios.

We have when all things are adjusted a brain seven times the mass we should have, for the size of our bodies. Dogs, cats, parakeets, and so on, are a one.

the Enterprise-C should have been the Probert version.
They probably would have if they could, the Probert version was used on the briefing room wall model seen in the first four seasons after all. Problem was, Yesterday's Enterprise was under extremely tight production deadlines and with the limited time they had, they couldn't build a model of the Probert version, so the version we got is because it was a quicker and easier model to build.

I’d take S3 of TOS over the entirety of Disco, Picard and Prodigy from nu-Trek and S1 of Enterprise, S1-2, S6-7 of Voyager from Classic Trek.
