It's very rarely that I find myself in such total complete and unilateral agreement with you, sir. But in this case... We reach, brother. We reach. The Spock/Christine relationship is the best thing in Star Trek for...well, decades.

Exactly so.Don’t know about “best thing in Star Trek for decades”, but it’s one of my favorite aspects of the show, for sure. And that’s mostly due to the wonderful performances by Jess Bush and Ethan Peck. They are just a joy to watch. And I love the fact that the writers just took this idea that’s barely even there in the original series and expanded it into this seemingly series-spanning storyline that’s not only interesting in its own right, but also in the way it adds to the original material. I can’t watch an episode of the original now and not see those characters with this backstory in mind.
It very much isThis isn’t the same universe or continuity.

Who was Chapel in TOS?Heck no. The Spock/Chapel bullshit was the moment I realised this show was not for me. Simply, these are not the characters I’ve known since I was a kid. This isn’t the same universe or continuity. Which is fine. I just wish the writers had created their own, new characters for this tedious CW-level fare.
One could make the argument that these aren't the characters you knew them as in their TOS incarnations, not yet anyway they're on their journey to becoming them.Heck no. I wore and washed mine to the point that it is now just an actual red shirt. The decal material washed away.I've had one of these for a very long time now ...

To me CW level is a character falling in love so hard that Spock would have to wipe their mind to forget.
Thank god no Star Trek has ever sank to that level. To me CW level is a character falling in love so hard that Spock would have to wipe their mind to forget.
And even 'dangerously' closer with "Requiem for Methuselah"We got perilously close with VOY: Unforgettable.
It would never recover, and become a parody of itself.Thank god no Star Trek has ever sank to that level.
Heh .. would probably get the show canceled even if it was in its Third Season. It would never recover, and become a parody of itself.
