Spoilers Andor - Season 2

No. Having Carrie Fisher-era Leia appearing in any future SW projects is a terrible idea.
She was a big part of the Rebellion so it would make perfect sense for her to show up at some if we continue getting stories set in the years leading up to or during the Original Trilogy.

She shows up in Rebels doing a mission under the cover of Alderaan's generous and helpful nature. A clever way to give the Rebel cells ships by having ships on mercy missions out on the Rim get "stolen" by pirates and rebels. During the time of Andor she is going from a junior Senator to Senator for Alderaan, while also doing missions on the side for the Rebellion using her status as an Imperial Senator has a cover story. "Mercy missions" were no longer an adequate cover story when Darth Vader caught her after the Battle of Scariff.

One also must remember that Princess Leia Organa was 14 years old during the first season of Andor. The same age as Padme (her mother) was when she was Queen of Naboo back in The Phantom Menace.

IIRC Colonel Yularen in Andor S1 was not called by name in any dialogue only in the credits, in the actual show he's only referred to as the head of the ISB.

I wonder how many people not immersed in everything Star Wars realized he was a legacy character.

Since I have just enough time to get through it, I decided to start a rewatch of Season 1 with Kassa this morning. I forgot just how different this from all the other shows, but not in a bad way. It really does feel like a Star Wars as a Netflix or Prime prestige series, and I've gotten the feeling that's what going for. My only real complaint is there were a few time I had a little trouble understanding some of the dialogue, but I think that might be due to the fact that I'm watching with just my TV speakers.

I feel like the rule is, whatever sound system a show is optimized for... it isn't mine.

Also, I believe that actors mumble more than they used to. It's as if clear enunciation is discouraged in favor of, I don't know, attempting to represent more natural-sounding speech patterns.

Maybe a greater variety of international speech patterns are represented than could be heard on 20th century American prime time.

All that happening together is a problem.

So, yeah, CC on for me, too.

I would watch with subtitles except whenever I try to do that I find it distracting. I dunno, my attention span as such that I can either watch what's happening or read what the characters are doing, I can't do both. And trying to ignore the subtitles never works, my attention is drawn to them just by virtue of popping up or even disappearing.

It's the sound mixes, they suck. "Wide dynamic range" is the anodyne descriptor. Once upon a time audio levels would be equalized but that time is not now.

I wouldn't really give a shit if I lived alone, but I do not. I live with people who will immediately complain if things get too loud, so you spend the whole time surfing the volume button.
