Think we need a minute of silence for the crew members making the ultimate sacrifice.
Fallen redshirts I thank you for your service.
It is a fitting tribute starfleet in the 23rd century would make every officer, enlisted crew and cadets into a redshirt.

I've always wondered whether Olson was suffering some sort of blood-oxygen issue or such at the time that led him to be overly reckless.

Tormolen was pretty deeply stupid though.

Landry wasn't all that bright with the tardigrade either.
I was thinking that too. That he was having hypoxia and couldn't perfectly react the way he normally would.

Landry was incredibly stupid, assuming a tranquilizer would be enough before taking appropriate precautions.

One nice thing about the twist involving Lorca was that it retroactively made more sense why he'd make Landry his security chief despite her seeming blatantly unqualified for the role.

Does Olsen count as a redshirt, since he was the Chief Engineer? We only saw him for one scene, but he was senior staff.
Yes, the real question about Olsen is how the heck he got to be chief engineer. Engineers usually operate carefully, safely, and by the book... unless they're saving the ship by completing an emergency repair in 15 minutes when the book says it takes two hours. That's how they get their thrills. Not by jumping from high places and postponing pulling their ripcords, and definitely not on a mission when they have actual work to get done.

He never faced a Romulan for so he got amped up in a different way.
