What's about a tv show/tv movie focusing upon Enterprise C Captain Rachel Garrett? All about those stellar starfleet exploits of hers prior to Yesterday's Enterprise. What do you guys think?

Being that I found her to be one of the few things I genuinely liked from Section 31, I'd love a series following the rise of Garrett, as played by Kacey Rohl.

Do I think it'll happen after the reception that Section 31 has received?

No.

I still like the idea a hell of a lot more than I like any of the ideas being floated around about Star Trek: Legacy.

Granted, both ideas have about an equal chance of actually happening....

Hells, yeah, I'd be on board. Sadly, I have to agree that given the reaction to Section 31, Paramount's probably going to try to pretend it never happened. In the event they do revisit the Lost Era, they're probably going to try for a "sure bet" like doing something with young Picard on the Stargazer, in which case the best we can hope for is they somehow contrive a way to get Garrett in such a series.

I'm not sure what they could do with an Enterprise-C show that wouldn't be Strange New Worlds, but set a generation later. A show focusing on the captain of the Enterprise traveling around the galaxy, but the audience knows their eventual doomed fate describes both Garrett and Pike.

In any case, something tells me that we won't be seeing any of the characters from Section 31 again following its reception.

The last time we got to see the next generation of the Enterprise crew it worked out pretty well. When Strange New Worlds wraps up in a couple of years, if they're still making Star Trek shows it'll be strange if we don't get some kind of Enterprise series to replace it. It could be Garrett of the Enterprise C, Seven of the Enterprise G, a new captain of a 32nd century Enterprise... there are plenty of options, but she's one of them.

The Lost Era will likely remain lost after S31.

Saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if Kurtzman tries to keep his dream of Section 31 alive, somehow. But no, there won't be a Captain Garrett show.

If there would be a Garrett series, don’t make it an Enterprise show. We’ve got one of those already.

Actually do something with the Lost Era period, instead of taking us away from everything that matters to us as viewers and making it generic as hell.

Make something of her character instead of the generic cypher she was in the movie. Who is she? Does she have a story worth telling?

No. And it won't happen because they have Strange New Worlds as the "there you go Trekkies, have some Star Trek" show while they throw shit at the wall and hope it hits.

I hadn't thought of that: an SNW version of TNG, as it were. Interesting.

I'd be up for a "Lost Era" set somewhere other than a starship (Enterprise or otherwise). At least as long as SNW is on the air. Really liked the Vanguard novels which runs current with TOS. Something like that maybe. A "spiritual successor" to DS9 ;)

Throw Garrett in there as a pre-E assignment, if you like.

I did like Garrett, her increasingly exasperated attitude was enjoyable, and her little outbursts were amusing.

But we're not giving her her own show. She can come back as a hologram in the Academy show or something.

“Once there was a rather good captain. She commanded the Enterprise for awhile, then was lost with her ship and crew defending Narendra III, which helped solidify peace with Klingons for decades.”

Honestly, it doesn’t grab me for the same reason a Young Picard/Stargazer series doesn’t. There’s no real reason to make it about them in particular, since it’ll mainly be an “adventures of a starship” show, which we can do well enough already.

As long as they commit to the time period, I'd be for it. A series about the "lost era" is one "prequel" I'd be okay with. That or the Eugenics Wars. Just please for the love of fuck, no more "pre-TOS Starfleet" prequels.
