The "neck" started life as a primitive object, in this case a cylinder.
Ohhh... interesting. From that lower angle it still looks like it has fillets and a flat leading edge. Is your material very reflective? (Example, high Metallic value)
For example in the images below, the leading edge of the neck is rounded. But the left-side image's material is 10% Metallic and 90% Rough while the right-side image's material is 90% Metal and 10% Rough. The right-side has a strong reflective line like yours which could be easily mistaken for an edge.

Note that I'm not advocating for you to change your designs on the ship from a curved leading edge to a flat edge or vice versa. Just helping to clarify what we're seeing.
