I watched the trailer for it and yikes, it looks terrible. When I think of a Section 31 movie I think of a dark spy thriller where we can't help but root for the anti-hero who is a terrible human being but we want them to win anyway.......not a lighthearted action-adventure movie.
Thus far it seems to not meet any one's expectations.

I still intend to watch it. I was always going to. I've just re-adjusted my expectations to this is probably going to be a Guilty Pleasure of mine. Would I like to be wrong? Of course! And, if I am, then I'll be pleasantly surprised. But if I have a good time watching this as a Guilty Pleasure, then I'll still be okay with it because that's what I'll be expecting.
I've been watching a bunch of older Michelle Yeoh films. I just hit the '90s. I don't know about her '90s films yet (besides Tomorrow Never Dies), but her '80s stuff falls into the Guilty Pleasure category. I had a great time watching them, but not the type of stuff that I'd ever say is top-tier best of the best. They're Hong Kong action movies where the story only exists so as to set up all the action scenes and the comedy, which is what the audiences were really there to see. If Section 31 is like this, then it'll fit in with other Michelle Yeoh films I've been watching so far like a glove.

EDITED TO ADD: It also means I'm going to hold off on my review of Section 31 until I'm good-and-ready. I'll watch it when it drops, but I'll wait to talk about it until I've seen every Michelle Yeoh movie on my watchlist. I want to have full context.

Well, we have been given no specific data, but we can consider the following...
The Battle of Narendra III took place in the year 2344. If Rachel Garrett was the same age as actress was Tricia O'Neill was at the time, that would make her 45. Kacey Rohl, who plays Garrett in Section 31, is 33. While this is by no means a certainty, given those numbers, I would say the early 2330s would be a good guess.

I'm curious...has there ever been any Trek set at the very beginning of the 24th century? Meaning right after the events of the first 7 movies? Heck, I'd even go for a Sulu series set then (but I don't like the Excelsior design). But really any ship and crew from that era would be exciting to me.
Nope. There's a 71-year gap between the launch of the 1701-B and "Encounter at Farpoint(TNG)."
This conversation got me thinking about what we do know canonically about that era. I can't seem to find my copy of the Okuda chronology, but there is an abbreviated version of it in the encyclopedia, which I could find.
Yeah, there's not a lot of note. Other than characters being born, we have Tomed in 2311, Cardassia annexing Bajor in 2328, Narendra III in 2344, Khitomer in 2346 and Picard commanding the Stargazer from 2333 until 2355.
The Cardassian border wars were a thing that spilled over from the very end of the Lost Era into the TNG era.
There is the 17-year Betreka nebula incident in between the Klingons and the Cardassians, but that was never given a canonical date, so it's not listed, at least on the abbreviated timeline.
The close proximity of the dates of Narendra III and Khitomer (II) could make for an interesting story of the early days of the Klingon/Federation alliance.
As for which Khitomer event that the Khitomer accords are named after, the Gorkon incident or the battle that killed Worf's parents, my head canon says both. What began after the original Khitomer Accords in 2293 was a beginning of ceasefire and peaceful coexistence. The full blown alliance between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, with mutual protection pacts and such, began after an expansion of the original accords after the event in 2346.
