It seems "Discovery" was erased from canon according to the internet which means the Section 31 movie is now in a alternate universe so they do have freedom to change the uniform if they wanted and it would not be a canon issue.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. -Frodo The Wrath of the Sith

While I don't think this movie will be good I would more than welcome more Trek tv movies. I mean I can see it now. 3 movies a year

1 Captain Sulu movie.

2 A Lower Decks live action movie

3 Sisko returns!
Star Trek Helm Squad. Mayweather, Detmer, Gates, Demora and Jae must rescue Tom Paris from the clutches of rogue helm officer Valaris!

1. Cho
2. Mariner/Newsome. Boimler/Quaid. Rutherford/Cordero. Tendi/Wells. T'Lynn/Ruiz. Freeman/Lewis. Ransom/OConnell. All close enough.
3, True
1. Was that who Jayson was referring to? Would Cho (or the studio for that matter) even be interested?

2. But can they be as zany as their animated counterparts?

3. QFT.

No need to state the obvious. Around here we are brothers in a dark forbidden land, where true fandom is met with wariness and people still believe that the STD show was canon.

We can only hope that the S31 pulp job will become a beacon of repulsion, a guiding light to all of us true Star Trek fans, for that the evil dominion of Kurtzman and his minions finds its end.

These are dark times brother, but as long our voices stay bold and loud, we can overcome this era of desperation.

Of course it's canon, it's made by the current rights holders and officially distributed by or on behalf of same.

There's a case to be made that it's not in continuity with some or all of the previous shows (I'm inclined to say yes, because contrary to the 'Abramsverse (which is still canon, but not in continuity) that's what we've been told... though I certainly agree that reconciling that with the mounting inconsistences (which have been a problem since at least TMP) is becoming increasingly difficult particularly if you insist on viewing it as a linear narrative (which IMO it isn't).

They literally watch clips of "Unification" and "The Chase" in Discovery, and used "The Cage" as a previously on:lol:

I get that Trek is an inconsistent mess and Disco especially so, but it really annoys me that everyone accepts Voyager when TOS explicitly could have made their journey in a month. It breaks the entire premise of the show! That's way more than differing Klingon makeup, but I guess fans excuse everything they like.

When CBS sells the Star Trek IP to Disney, they’re going to declare all of CBSTrek non-canon, and will make their own thing. So none of it matters anyway.
