MLB Off Season 24-25

I think it sucks. People need to grow up.

Soto obviously liked being a Yankee, but he goes with the best contract. Like pretty much every other baseball player in existence. "Loyalty" is irrelevant.

I mean, Braves fans gave Freddie Freeman a standing ovation his first at-bat as a Dodger! You think they gave a shit about loyalty? Hell no.

Look, I personally WOULD have preferred that Soto remain a Yankee, but it's not like I'm gonna boo him because he left (unfortunately, some probably will  ). That's a dick move. I wish fans wouldn't do that. It's embarrassing.

On an unrelated note, I'm liking the closer (Devin Williams) the Yankees just traded for. Dude's an absolute BEAST.

The Freddie Freeman walk off grand slam ball in the World Series sold for $1.56 million.

Phillies are trying to get rid of Alec Bohm and have been shopping him around but have the most unrealistic trade expectations for him because they're acting like he's George Brett by what they want in return.

Cardinals tried to trade Nolan Arenado to the Astros but he invoked his no-trade clause.

The City of Everett caved to MLB's demand to build a new ball park for the minor league Aquasox or face relocation/losing the team. The cost is going to be $100+ million and design work and groundbreaking are expected to be done by late 2025.
$100M. That's a nice investment for a $10M return.

Random sports thought: there should be some notable baseball game played on Christmas Day - an MLB exhibition game, a minor leagues all-stars game, an East vs. West Coast event, whatever, but something. Who cares if it's the offseason? If anything, that'd make it more interesting. If Christmas were during the NFL's off season, would they lack the swagger to put on a game of some kind? I highly doubt it.

If baseball wants to be serious about retaining the title of "America's pastime," it should put on an event on the country's biggest holiday of the year. If the NBA can put on five games, and the NFL two, then baseball should be able to put on one.
