When did Chakotay fall into the background?

I also like Seven, don't get me wrong (wells, Voyager's Seven...), even though I like Kes more. But giving her so much focus was annoying, especially for sone old fans that like early Voyager.
I think what should have happened if they wanted to give Seven a lot of screen time is... pair Seven up with everyone. Seven-Doctor stuff in sickbay, Seven in engineering with B'Elanna, Seven and Harry do tech stuff, Seven backs Tuvok because danger makes her eyeroll (LMAO), and honestly, there should have been miore Chakotay-Seven stuff. I absolutely loved their dynamic in "Scorpion, Part II" and would have loved to see more of that carry over after she deborgified, character conflict, I mean.

There was too much Seven as it was. She more and less took over the show.

I was meaning to suggest giving other characters more screen time by pairing up Seven with other characters or putting her in groups situations shifting the show back to an ensemble cast.
I know that and maybe that's a good idea.
But it would still be too much Seven.

Too much Seven, too little people like Chakotay, Tuvok and Harry (why keep him, which led to Lynx know what, if not to use him).
