A momentary lapse of protocol vs a thrill-seeking "wahoo! enjoy the ride!"?
In a potentially quarantine zone? Absolutely. I don't tolerate poor medical or quarantine procedures. Gloves and protective equipment have been drilled in to me for a long time.

I could excuse Olson in some way but definitely not violating procedure on possible infection.

So, Lets make a sort of List
Olson from ST09 Dumb as a rock, but really only nerfed himself
Blue shirt from Naked Time, Yeah.. He's in MOP Gear for a reason.. Keep your stuff on..
A KLINGON.. from Friday's Child.. he wasn't that smart..
Natasha Yar? When she was swated by Armus..

Probably more

I guess I dont watch a ton of TOS to know about redshirts of those era but after seeing Olsen stupidly not pull his chute after yelling from both Sulu and Kirk. He was such a stupid death.

I’m tempted to say there’s always a stupider redshirt. Then again, there’s also always a smarter one.

The direction* was to fast for the non-leads to react in time.

Olsen's gung-ho recklessness was foolish. Tormolen's reckless disregard for protocol in the possible presence of an unknown pathogen was, by any measure, stupid.

Olsen got himself duffed, but there's no clear indication he could have helped change the outcome of the situation if he hadn't. Tormolen carried a pathogen back to the ship and infected the crew, nearly resulting in the loss of the ship and crew. There's a big difference between the displays of boneheadedness.

I think Lt. Joe Tormolen in "THE NAKED TIME" might take the cake as the stupidest because he not only got himself killed but nearly got the entire crew killed.
Taking off his glove in the crisis area was stupid. Plus the outfits Spock and Joe were wearing were too loose and unsealed to be outbreak-proof. I wouldn't blame him for his repressed suicidal feelings. Many of us have been there.
